Rough Day at Lightning Rod World Headquarters

Post by Lightning Rod » November 3rd, 2004, 10:14 pm

It's been a nutso day around here at Lightning Rod World Headquarters. I was greeted upon awakening with the pleasant news that the election was hung in Ohio and shortly thereafter by Kerry's concession speech. Then I spent the next few hours struggling with two new software applications. I watched Gdub's acceptance speech all the while getting chills up my spine at the thought of what might happen because of his stewardship of our nation in the next four years. Then after a computer restart, all the documents on our main work computer disappeared. Five years of work related documents and a year's worth of text for The Poet's Eye etc. The whole desktop disappeared. The finder wouldn't work to locate the files. About that time I had one of those 'all is lost' moments. I didn't cry, though, I snapped at alicia and ordered chinese food. So, for the past three hours I have been trying to worm my way in to the lost files. We've been on the phone and the internet trying to solve the problem. I finally found a way into them through the back door. That was a relief.

All is not lost. Even if we feel that way momentarily. As long as there is life, there is struggle and as long as there is struggle, there is hope.
