lookin for a miracle
lookin for a miracle
been down so long
lookin for a miracle
playin Parker down the dusty road
truckful of shit pours its load in my way
it's all the same, brother
it's always this way, sister
lookin for a miracle
lookin
long shot sunset spills her tomorrow
fog engulfed future teases her tonight
it's painted by number
it's a cartoon on a bender
lookin for a miracle
lookin for a mirror
lookin for the high priestess high heyday
lookin for the mt. olympus in the valley of yesterday
Dizzy spills his guts and guzzles peanuts in the crowd
while folks spill their bourbon, passing bullshit
laughter in backwater bistros
lookin for an answer
lookin for an answer
the feet keep on goin
while the soul's lost in dreamin
with tractors pointed nowhere
plowing fields growin nothin
and we're lookin for each other
and we're listening out for voices
and it's gonna be a miracle
if we make it through the day
lookin for a miracle
been down so long
lookin for a miracle

Just waltzed in
to the joy jam,
whole lotta turkey,
and pineappled ham,
oh what a hungry
girl I am.
Shopping these
word malls,
presence abound,
I'm even going to
wrap up
a few that I found.
I'll put them
under my Christmas tree,
sparkles for my eyes only
to see,
all year long,
they'll radiate to me.
What I have
to add,
is small and meek,
please feel free
to take
a peek.
Might be hard
to see,
without closing
your eyes,
but that's what it takes
for my surprize.
There it is,
in closed eye view,
you've always had them,
those lifelong shoes,
jitterbug dancin,
to the joy of you.

I am beyond the perimeter
of winter. My muse
is frozen, buried under
half a foot of snow.
I know it is time for
celebration and the
creation of light, but
I cannot ignite a spark
inside my dark soul.
The whole of me yearns
for the birth of words
to illuminate! Yet I remain
entombed beneath a snowdrift,
strained in the squall, all of me
seeking the gift, unable to unwrap
a miracle! Dig me out!
Dig me out! Help me emerge!
I am icebound!

is frozen, buried under
half a foot of snow.

celebration and the

i sit in stillness
choosing to have some time alone with my soul
and on the wind
i hear the sounds of my familiars
i listen with intention
and it is the voice of doreen
that i distinguish
friend,
i encircle you
dance around you
and gather up a bundle of fallen sparks
laying them at your feet
hold my hand
and now the other
let me lead you in the dance
together we will reclaim the joy
...and celebrate that which is our familiar
namaste
dohiya
so it is.

for doreen and for hester
and everyone here
who are my shams of tabriz,
a little Rumi
The morning wind spreads its fresh smell.
We must get up and take that in,
that wind that lets us live.
Breathe before it's gone.
Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance when you're perfectly free.

A perfect close for the Jam, whitebird!
Thank you so much for Rumi!
----------
I dance through winter until spring.
I sing a celebration. I bring wishes
for joy and peace to all.
Dance with me and sing through
winter, spring and fall, 'til summer's
sun warms .... I am thankful each
one of you was born.
----------
Until next time.... Wishing you all a beautiful Holiday season.
