some help on fundamentalist/far-right, please

Post by knip » December 18th, 2005, 8:34 pm

i've been trying to decide what route to take while driving out west this spring/summer...i know i want to go through the US, but have been toying with various themes...i think i've decided upon visiting the heartland of christian fundamentalism for a couple days on my way...first-hand view of the wingnuts, and all

i can google, but haven't uncovered any info gems yet...does anyone know of any 'can't miss' sites on the fundamentalist scenic tour? montana and idaho seem pretty madatory...maybe north dakota, too, but am looking o narrow things down a bit, if anyone can help...thanks

A freaky-thing to do, Knip!   I can't help you with that but can suggest a google on 'blue states/red states'... maybe that would narrow it down a bit for you and your pick of red states... who knows??

If it happens for you, I'd like to read anything you have to say about it.

Dear knip:

Here's a web site for an organization whose far-right "wig-out" stance on many issues is worth exploring. They identify themselves readily in terms of geography, also.

Check the "issues" links at the bottom right-hand corner of their site . . .

http://www.cfif.org/htdocs/flash_2.htm

You might also like to check on the current activities ( and friends and affiliates ) of one of my favorite politicians, Thad Balkman ( I love that last name), a right-wing theocrat from Norman, Okla:

http://www.ecognizant.net/balkman/about.tcl

I'm sure that, at bottom, Thad is a very well-intentioned young man who fled the liberal horrors of Long Beach, California ( his original home) to help the mentally diseased in need of aid . . .

It's just all those OTHER things he espouses . . .

and while you're in that neighborhood, why not trundle a few hundred miles east to Bob Jones University and discuss the forthcoming Rapture with some of their faculty?

Good hunting . . .

Ah yesss... the rapture: the day of levitating christian wingnuts and wailing masses in the lava seas of hell.

See you guys in the pit!
Last one in's a smelly arco-daemon.
