I put down my book
The Meaning of Zen
and see the cat smiling into her fur
as she delicately combs it with her pink tongue

but it apppears that you have already read it."

She looks up and gives me her full gaze
"Don't be ridicullous," she purrs. "I wrote it.:

I thought you might appreciate that mingus. You look like such a literary cat.

cat,

about the albino thing re sensory impairment:

When I was growing up in South Dallas, two of my neighbors were Edgar and Johnny Winter. They are both albinos.

As you know, both of them can hear quite well. Their sensory impairment was sight. They both had to wear dark glasses.

Is "Winter" their real last name?

If so, it's tempting to speculate how the family acquired it. Perhaps albinism was a strong tendency in the male line of that family through generations, and the name came from that ...

I don't believe blue eyed white cats are albinos, exactly. There's just a link between the white coat and a lack of some lubricant that they need in the middle ear, in order to hear. Not ALL blue eyed whites are deaf, and SOME pure whites with other eye colors are occasionally born deaf. I have heard that blue eyed whites from Siamese lines are rarely deaf.

My Calypso is a lynx-point Siamese -- far from "white" -- and she has seriously impaired vision. I don't know why.

If you want to go WOW over some amazing-looking cats, check these pictures out. I personally think the standard Bengals in the pictures are breathtaking.
