today i went to DHL world courrier service and picked up a package from my son, i sliced open the yellow plastic enevelope and found hand woven scarfs from the chango indians in valapariso chile
he remembered that green is my favorite color
we both have green eyes
he is a young man now, intelligent responsible and working in the import/ export business for his father
and many italian uncles
he sent some pictures of the changos and told me in a letter that they reminded him of his friend reemy and his family
especilly the hair he said
i feel loved
while at one time he was a resident of my body, he made it clear that he was going to be a free man three hours before he was born
i was blessed with the powers of female child birth and a heart that could with stand the pain of being a mother
the meaning of turn the other cheek doesnt really sink in until they go into puberty
although rommance and love and lust are rather interesting
nothing really can stand up to the love that a mother has for her children, and there have been a few that chose to back down
bears and motherhood understand each other
much has transpired since the very beginning of his life, in his, and in mine... his brother s and fathers lives.. there has been various flavors, some sweet, some sour, some bitter,some still fermenting
it is always a mystery just
what small thread will connect us again
and again
i fill my cup with the present
but it took some adjustments, the alchemy of creation and the seperation of layers upon layers of skin like stories peeling like a snake in the hot sun
the earth like an ancient rock absorbing all of the emotion and struggle to discover what is under all of this?
the smile of recognition from many lifetimes?
the eyes that penetrate the very soul
I smell my family like a wild animal
in this weaving
he knew that i would feel the love he sent along with it, in the softness
i thank creator profusely for this, i sound so old sometimes
love can make you wise and elderly
small fingers on my face, radiant touch enters me
i will be a grandmother some day
perhaps my sons will have twins like my father
maybe i will be needed by them somehow
in the future
i do not know
but i am hoping for such luck
