stampede?!?!

Post by firsty » January 12th, 2006, 11:25 am

ok. lissen. lets be up front about this. people dying in a stampede is really not so very good. ok, sure, we had the who concert 25 years ago or whatever, a few people died in a stampede-like event. i know, i fucking KNOW. but isnt getting a bunch of people together to imitate a stone-throwing affair and cramming hundreds nay thousands of people into these places, and having REPEAT events of mass casualities due to STAMPEDES, human stampedes, just a little throwback-ish? what fucking year is this? someone needs to straighten these people out. firebombs, anyone? ha ha! woah.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

what is shocking is the way this is being reported, not investigating the physics of the scene.

instead, the people are described as if they were animals 'stampeding.' of course, people dying in panicked crowd catastrophes is not unknown in the West, at rock shows and football matches, this kind of thing happens tho at a smaller scale. but why does it happen, and are these different types of events?
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

now there are protests that involve burning embassies and stoning people to make a statement about the cartoons that depict muhammed as violence.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.
