worn white t-shirt

Post by joel » February 21st, 2006, 6:28 pm

A worn white t-shirt (when dress shirt naked)
warm on my body without pretension—
a handkerchief shirt’s soft simple cotton:
the wrap of warmth of love of me.

I lounge reflective all lounged in comfort—
soft woolen trousers and dress shoes linger
laid up and stretched out for rest extended:
late afternoon of love of me.

My crewneck collar— no chokehold necktie;
My belt unfastened— no chokehold waistline;
My watch forgotten— no chokehold timepiece
compatible with love of me,

and I would trade it, would trade my comforts,
like no second thought would ever question
if primed and proper my presentation
would cause your love of love of me.
