Rubber Clown

Post by judih » November 16th, 2004, 11:02 am

i'm a rubber clown
bouncing on an ethereal trampoline
'turn down that racket, wouldja'
perennial muzak on a sour note

if you've seen one boing
you've seen em all
shouts einstein in passing
i have, i do! greets goethe

all the outer signs signal green
while the inner turbulence heaves red
thick with anguish.
(what's green and rotates?)
(that's no lady, that's my wife)
(don't mind if i do)

the stand-ups usher us to our seats
while ejection rejects our stasis
never saw that boing before,
coney island whispers in salty delight

with thnx to c.m. for action inspiration

fellini's clowns, movie that'll
definitly enlighten, especially
the sad clown, leaves yer eyes
wet, and the regret for me is
that I never did get into that
packed car, ridin' round that circle
made up looney bins starz................

lately i been thinking that maybe philosphers should be clowns
not kings
i suppose I do have a sick sense of humor
dread despair
depression
but don't mind me
I am a crash test dummy
and I just hit the wall
looking forward to nov 18 and all that language confusion and jam
poetry and bricks
Jesus Buddha and
writing in the after life
if i knew i was going to have to write it all down I would have took notes
(ripped off billy collins poem)

"big light in east frightens minorities"
oh yeah I am puckered up in texas

tried to laugh it off
but life is a satire in the making
someone clears a throat
another digs in an elbow
and the joke flies over my head

(don't look up!)

life in the fast lane
days fly by and I look at the sky
going to fly away home anyday now
life is a satire?
well if you say so
those masks the Greeks wore for their comedies and tragedies
like a two headed god to me
a cosmic joke

Life is so precious that is why nature poors it out so abundantly
a thousand are born to die of starvation
so a few might live in luxury

and I remember the Liberty
'There sits no higher court
Than man's red heart'

medusa with stone hands wrapped around her throat,
or how
I could have commited suicide by matracide
sons are so much more important to some mothers
they raise their daughters to know their place
she never knew her mother, that was her excuse
when her daughter asked her why

don't mean nothing just a old fool dumping his core
