Apeiron, for Lawerence Welk

Post by stilltrucking » April 3rd, 2006, 3:49 am

Surface tension
a Calm bubble of reason
Reflecting the world

These are the good old days
Watching them go
Like the bubbles in my beer

Bubble boy
Counter clockwise
In a clock work world

Looking at the reflection of a face in a soap bubble
As tenuous as I am

Lies all lies
I am a truck I own you
I am a computer I own you
I am a Swiss cheese sandwich on moldy rye bread I own you
Meet my maker the mad molecule
I own you

My life careens in random orbits
There is no center
Only an empty calmness
I spiral outward into the void
Flinging off identity and meanings
As clear as death

Use to watch Larence Welk growing up. Loved to watch, I think it was Bobby and Sissy, dance. So beautiful. Ball room dancing I think has gone out of style, least for the younger generation. Wish I could dance like that.

love lots

Yeah, truck.. I concur with Dor'... good piece you've written here!

Ann Bigham - ballroom dancing is having a resurgence (of sorts) - there is some kinda weekly show completing in that form of dance using celebrities... on regular channels I believe, altho I know not which one.

Lawerence Welk, turn off the bubble machine. Do you remember when they used to have a bubble machine?

The only poetry in that was what I stole from St Anne of Sexton.
Lies all lies
I am a truck
I own you

Jesus Suckles

Mary, your great
white apples make me glad.
I feel your heart work its
machine and I doze like a fly.
I cough like a bird on its worm.
I’m a jelly-baby and you’re my wife.
You’re a rock and I the fringy algae.
You’re a lily and I’m the bee that gets inside.
I close my eyes and suck you in like a fire.
I grow. I grow. I’m fattening out.
I’m a kid in a rowboat and you’re the sea,
the salt, you’re every fish of importance.

No. No.
All lies.
I am small
and you hold me.
You give me milk
and we are the same
and I am glad.

No. No.
All lies.
I am a truck. I run everything.
I own you.

She is out of style these days but she still works for me.

Yup, still's a poet he just don't know it.

It's a shame these calm bubbles of reason reflecting the world have a tendency to burst and then all hell breaks loose. These bubbles need to be made out of kevlar...or perhaps one of my roasted meats...impermeateable!

Good stuff st.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

Those calm bubbles can be a snare and a delusion mousey1

Let men tremble to win the hand of woman, unless they win along with it the utmost passion of her heart! Else it may be their miserable fortune, as it was Roger Chillingworth's, when some mightier touch than their own may have awakened all her sensibilities, to be reproached even for the calm content, the marble image of happiness, which they will have imposed upon her as the warm reality.
thank you for reading
Sorry it took me a year to get back to you
I missed your reply

ah yes
the calm content the marble image of happiness
