In night's embrace lies
little time for sleep.
Shall I ignore my Guest, dressed
in glittering gowns of light, bearing
gifts of greatest grandeur?
Her knock comes softly, melodiously
on my door of being. "Will you
receive Me tonight?" She whispers
in sweetest trilled humility.
Heart immediately wakens, springs
eagerly to tune of vibrant joy.
Mother! Awaken me ever!
With Your light
stay delusion's might.
Lift me from slumber of
pillowed illusion. Rouse me
from sub-conscious depths
to super-conscious heights.
Draw back layered sheets
of dreamed separation. We
are One! We are One!. All
is aglow in Your luminous
presence of wakefulness.
Nightly cup of blissful amrit*
intoxifies, deifies, intensifies
rippling, limitless love. Bed's
confines give way. Sadhana's*
seat of boundlessness awaits.
*amrit - the nectar of bliss in deep meditation
*sadhana - ones spiritual path through this maze of life referring in this instance to my meditation seat.

Thank you for the comment, Sober Duck, it is always greatly appreciated. And I'm glad you understood it. I usually don't make footnotes but in some occasions it seems necessary. I believe it was Emerson's Hymn to Brahma who wrote: Tell them to substitute Jehovah for Brahma and they will understand when questioned about 'Brahma'.
Be well and thanks for reading,
