Frida

Just finished this portrait of Frida Kahlo cradling her beloved Diego.
It is oil on 1/4" thick mahogany plywood.

I have stepped out of myself for this one and attempted to paint this portrait as Frida would have using the example of her many self portraits...........

Kool! It is coming up this summer, at American Stage in downtown St Pete! I'll definately check it out. Viva Frida and yes you did get the spirit, plus the blue house, stucco, and the textures and patterns of leaves and cactusses, overall, I think you channelled her, sin duda!another great flying boid, also. the car got dive bombed this morning parked at the zen center. how's that for being ''too inconsistant.'' Resurrected by the ghost of Frida, indeed!

I love that picture. Such a small frail woman, but so much power and passion in her.

Thank you.

I forgot the Spanish but I remember her motto engraved above the door of her house was, "Long Live Life."
