Reluctant soft

Post by joel » May 11th, 2006, 10:47 am

Reluctant soft as vision comes
as turbulent and cymbal drums
like woolen grays when depth confounds,

so stillness, in decisive fresh
repose, relaxes puckered flesh:
existence small that death surrounds

is therefore all the precious more
and slow and soft and sweet. Bon jour—
good day conveys the surety

of vision broken new again—
I trust as such, reluctant soft, that when
adjustment dawns comes purity

as rumble love confessions. Now
the vernal afternoon avows
an amber warmth as ashes’ heat

that, though by flame no longer burns,
seethes nonetheless ablaze; and yearns
such mysteries of love to seat.

Your talent in writing poetry is awesome.

I love this piece!

Do you recite your work, Joel?

Are you coming to DC for the Cabaradio?
