Sunday Stream (80) ~ The Seekers Train

Post by mtmynd » June 4th, 2006, 11:48 am

The Seekers Train

Imagine for a moment, if you will, a train taking seekers on a journey, pulled by an engine of why's, where's, what's, who's, and when's (when not being asked they hang out in the caboose!). Behind the engine, (all these questions), are passenger cars, each carrying different schools of thought. One has the Oriental philosophers, behind them the Greek philosophers, another carries the religionists, another carries the deep scientists, there is a car carrying the artists, etc...

From 'letters to home' each passenger, regardless of the car they're on, writes of their journey. Confucius sits on the right side, row 3, window seat, and sees where the journey is taking him. Lao-Tzu is sitting on the left side, row 7, isle seat. Their perceptions, while on the same journey, are a bit different due to their inability to be in the same space, same place at the same time, but the journey exposes them to the identical environment. The skies are clear, but there on the left side of the train, there are some clouds beginning to form on the horizon... the light dims a bit, but the view is still commanding! Beautiful and breathtaking, no matter which side of the passenger car, the journey is filled with astonishing insights... too much for any one eye to completely grasp.

We might step in the car with the religionists and see Buddha over there on the right side, row 1, window seat... four rows back on the left side may be Jesus at the window, smile on his face while taking in the wonders as the train rolls along, and behind him a couple of rows back is Mohammed.

In the Artists car we find Walt Whitman gazing out the window in the 9th row, left side, his eyes glowing at the view that only a seeker could appreciate... across from Walt is DaVinci, taking notes of his perceptions.

The same analogy could be for any of the passengers upon any of the cars behind the same engine. No one eye ('I') can speak for the complete journey. Each have their own perception of what they gained upon this journey. The one commonality in the vastness and beauty of what they've beheld is life-shifting. Each will speak of their personal journey with their personal perception, with their own minds filtering the experience of the journey thru their writings, their talks, their own essences. It can be no other way, for them or others that take this "Seeker's Train."

All aboard, Seekers... this train is for you. The journey is endless, the views are spectacular. The ticket is your desire to know, your seat is in the school of thought you're drawn to. The train can accomodate all that want answers and all that will accept the Freedom of Truth.

Oh I loved this.

Seekers on the train.

I spend all my time just looking out the window
I hardly see anyone else
should that be
could that be
it works for me

people can be grand from a distance
I want only the rare few in my boxcar of life

could that be right
could that be wrong
is there any difference

I seek

but ahhhhh Cec...this is a keeper!
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

Several months ago, I posted a bit on the "Round-scape"-- my take on gigantic curved (bowl-shaped) desert basins. From the top rim of the bowl, its full depth is apparent, and the far side rises up, "ethereal", or "mystical", in its haze. But descend the curve and perspective changes. The far side compresses down as you descend, and "de-mystifies" in its approaching (increasing) clarity and detail.... Its esthetic and geometric "truth" changes, along the path....

This piece reminded me of that bit.... Thanks for the ride, Cecil.

....many paths up the same mountain....

each carrying different schools of thought.
Train of thought:

my trains of thought are more like a switching yard these days. So many tracks so many switches. Or brain cells for that matter.

Ya know I been praying for a good case of writer’s block but so far my prayers unanswered. But I am happy you be writing again. different strokes I suppose. I would like to be free of this compulsion to type.

"Round-scape"

Did they look like craters, or calderas? Did you post any pictures?
I caught a Nova special about super volcanoes.

No, not craters.... just huge curving valleys formed by alluvial deposits.... I'm not sure why, but they intrigue me quite a bit.... here's a link to that post...
