Jimbo – colored pencil and marker. I have been reproducing some of my drawings in acrylic paint. Thing is acrylic isn’t the right media…the drawing on the flyer will be the next one I paint…I think oil will work better…when I finish it I’ll post the result.
There always seems to be more. Thank you.
Zlatko – thank you. It won’t be the same as being there but I’ll post some photos of the show.
Either I haven’t been paying attention or you haven’t posted for awhile. Good to see you.

I don't get exposed to art very much. What i can see is great; cannot wait to see more pics. The opening pic looks to have a lot of texture to it. The best i can pull off is landscapes in oil pastel crayons. I am so envious. Tried acrylics once, i don't have the wrist movement for it. What a gift you have.

Judih - Fire is a very inviting space http://www.thisisfire.com I had always wanted to show in a comfortable, non-sterile gallery. It was a dream come to true to be asked to show in such an incredible place. Immediately following my opening there was a slam competition, Milwaukee won easily (Kalamazoo’s team wasn’t in the competition). For me though, the best part of the evening was sharing my work and experiencing others gratitude for my efforts.
Quotes:
“I have been coming to the Art Hops since they started and your show is the best I’ve ever been to, thank you.”
“You really know how to fill space.”
“I love your lines.”
“Your artist statement answered a lot of questions. Not just about your show but everything seems clearer to me now.”
“You are amazing!”
“I have never really enjoyed art till I saw your work.”
Fortunately, much has changed in the last few years and I don’t find it difficult to except that something I’ve done could be all these things. I feel blessed to have been given the gift to channel visions. And even more blessed to be given the opportunity to thank others for sharing their love of my interpretations of….I’m not sure where the visions come from but I’ll generalize here and send a shout out to God.
Note: I’m no religious zealot. There is just something going on that I haven’t been able to pinpoint, so, I’ve yet to be properly introduced to the sources I need to be thanking.
Ann – Thank you. It may be a while but I’ll get some more up ASAP.

happiness yes
Tsunami size wave
I’ll ride for as long as I remember
It’s been building for a long time
At least from the age of eight
Walking to the 7eleven
Taking a short cut with a child hood friend
Behind the fire station
Through the car parts center parking lot
Behind the adult bookstore
Through the strip bar parking lot
Cross the street to the 7eleven
Bought a Mountain Dew
Pocketed a pack of Bubblicious
Broke a bottle laying in the parking lot
Laughed at a guy coming out of the bookstore
Thought about what sort of car I might have to buy parts for someday
And then again someday but out loud looking up at the boarded up windows
“I want to have a show in there.”
“What kind of show?”
“An art show.”
“You ain’t gonna have no kind of art show.”
“I will. In there. You’ll see if you’re still around that sometimes I know things. Like how I knew it wouldn’t be dangerous to take a short cut.”
A few years later I’m walking to the library across the street and I notice the restoration crew working hard at the fire house. I smiled then danced a bit on the sidewalk before I went in to look up random things on the index cards in the cool wooden boxes.
Happiness yes!
BTW judih it's always good to see you here. thanks
