Second Hand Memories

Post by ScrabbleJudy » June 4th, 2006, 7:00 pm

Hey Folks---just so ya know  former bassist wasn't there!!--makes for good self promotion  though--I guess! There were NO Hell's angels--no passed out in a gutter---a lot of fabrication and exageration --- must have a boring life himself to put up a bunch of facts mixed with fiction about Steve!! Maybe it's common in some bands--back-ups jealous of drop-dead gorgeous 8) front man! Judy

I'm glad you posted that, Judy....I got to see and hear them lots of times in the 1970s when everybody was partying hearty... Weber certainly was large and in charge then--always put on a good show, had charisma out the ying yang-professional all the way--he was a band leader in the classic sense and as I recall in his Oregon days, never failed to please the crowd and leave them hooting and stomping for more....sure are a lot of wild stories on that FMR site...but, like you say...if someone needs to diss another to make themselves seem bigger or something, what you gonna do?
Weber is a lean mean rock and roll machine and we in these little coastal shithole towns were always thrilled to see that ugly old bus pulled up tight to our favorite hangouts and beerjoints. It was all about the good times-dancing with girls, drinking lot's of beer, smoking weed out the back door and that good solid and tight full Rounder sound. It was especially awesome when the Clamtones would open for them-God it was so much fun back then....

Crazy by Gnarls Barkley
I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that PHASE.
Even your emotions HAD an echo
in so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
*************
Possibly [CD version has PROBABLY here]

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice
That's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember Is thinking, I want to be like them

Ever since I was little, ever since I was little oh it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

But maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably

nice lyrics abstroint!

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & party, Devotional songs (a friend's gift). Beautiful repetitive music here with flamenco touches, and the lyrics... well... I only understand Allah, Ali, Allah, Ali and so on.

Doing the math

Post by stilltrucking » July 3rd, 2006, 9:10 pm

Doing the math

http://145.53.136.229/Listening%20to%20 ... 20math.htm

All of that time, where did it go
What have you done and what have you got to show for it
Doing the math is kind of a bummer
You best avoid crunching that number

Where are they now and what are they doin'
Everyone's inching at your high school reunion
Doing the math it don't bring satisfaction
No, there's no more addition, now it's all subtraction

Doing the math is just a mistake
When time's almost up then life's a heartbreaker
The people you knew are all starting to die, yeah
And you're in that queue and you're wonderin' why

You used to believe you would live forever
And a world without you couldn't be, no way, never
Doing the math will just bring you down
And gravity and time will put you back in the ground

Allright - get back - get down
Allright - get back - get down

Flip a calendar page, no you can't run for cover
They call it middle age when life's almost over
Doing the math ain't such a big thrill
Us boomers have been busted man, we're over the hill

Doing the math is just a fool's errand / errin'
You don't wanna know and there's no use in caring
That body you use is no longer your friend
And your mind starts to wonder where and when when will it end

- it's gonna end

You may make it to eighty or you could kick tonight
Either way to me you know it just don't seem right
Doing the math is sure leaving me cold
Life is too short when you get this old

You know a monkey, a dog, a horse, a giraffe
they're all gonna die but they don't do the math
Humans do math and it's kind of a bummer
you best avoid crunchin' that number

allright - get down - get back
allright - get down - get back[/quote]
