babysitting a fifty three year old woman
my family still has one foot in the nineteenth century
we come into this world innocent and trusting babes
and life takes its toll on some of us
But some choose to be happy
and some choose to be misrable
we are little gods
so much our fate in our own hands
unless you are born
in the third world
or is their a fourth world these days
that makes the third one look like Aspen Colorado?
on the oft chance she may read this sometime

I have turned off the projector
I am going to the river to pray
monkey brain genuis hell on wheels
miracle medical machines that cure cancer
miracal minds that paint, and sculpt and write
these are still the good old days
if ever a woman had too much to for give
as a teenager she would say to me
"I wish I had never been born"
Everyday for two weeks we wake up with the same thought
Will today be the day the death sentence is pronounced
Blues For Allah
Don't it make you want to rock and roll
smiles and forgiveness is all we have left
thanks mark

truck I thought you did not write poetry. You sure do a good job of it if you ask me. Life can be crule sometimes, we make the best with what we got. I'm reminded of the words to a song I kinda like..."it's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you have."
I really liked that last line. I wonder though if there are just two worlds these days. One for the very rich, and one for the rest of us. Just thoughts. Enjoyed the read.
love lots
Deb.
