if anyone knows, or has experienced, or can define this........

Lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase deficiency is a disorder of lipoprotein metabolism and causes a typical triad of diffuse corneal opacities, target cell hemolytic anemia, and proteinuria with renal failure.

I been putting something on my hot dogs, I bought from the bargain bin at the Piggly Wiggly. twenty five cents, but the label is in spanish. all these ingredients I can't read. I asked a Texican Lady if she could tell me what it was for. But she was no help. She said "we do not use that, Peurto Rican people use it"

Good stuff, I have not rolled out of bed in weeks.

sounds serious
I hope someone can help you
Any day now a lawyer will have an ad on tv for class action law suits.

Do you think you should get professional advice. Jimbo and SooZen the only two medical people I know of hanging around studio eight.

take care, sorry about the goof. That fine print on those labels is a bitch.
is a disorder of lipoprotein metabolism
does that mean something is wrong with the liver? I been thinking about the thousands and thousands of chemicals added to our food, and drink. They are even screwing around with my cigarettes. Sounds like you need to eat more lichi nuts
sorry yab I got to go
too stoned to speak to fear
where is jimbo when we need him.

I got it a little bit more together. I got to stop smoking weed before I go to work. It makes me so lazy.
cholesterol acyltransferase deficiency is not well established. The proband will need to be carefully monitored in the future.

Mysterious illness yabyum, seems like no one seems to know much about it. I found another site that said it was or may be genetic. They talked about it being early symptomatic. Could develop into something called "fish eye disease"

take care, I read something else about life style and diet.

##A stab in the dark here. Forget about the first part, the cause, the effects are interesting to me. If you want an explanation of the first part all you have to do is google the words individually - or wholly - and I'm sure you would get instant results. But the part that is causes a triad (Three?) of 'diffuse corneal opacities' sounds like serious eye problems. The second part of the triad 'target cell hemolytic anemia', sounds like weakness and always feeling/being run down. 'proteinuria' sounds like either too much or too little breakdown of protein and eventual kidney failure.

I'm not sure why you posted this here but if this is about you then I don't see why the doctor didn't explain it all to you. It seems to me probable that he more likely than not did. If it is about someone you care about then you can ask them as I'm sure it was explained to them. Or you can google or talk to the doctor yourself. It seems odd that you would post such a thing here.

mmm...I only know that some medicines used against high amounts of choresterol produce muscular atrophy. An old country men told me that he drank a mix of one soup spoon of apple vinegar plus another one of honey three times a day before the meals in order to decrease his choresterol levels. He also told me that if you suffer from diabetes you can use lecitine for that instead of the mix.

This LCAT is not something I am dealing with inside my own body, but it has my little sister in a hospital bed in Jersey. I've been doing tons of research on the disease but just thought I'd post a query here in hopes that maybe someone knew any info from first hand account. Everything I read is all medical jargon and gives me a fucking migraine.

after all these years I still don't know your name yabyum.

I me and my little sister went through some strange times the past couple weeks. We were playing Ike and Mike. Good Doctor Bad Doctor. One doctor trivializing everything and the other one giving her the bad news. Dealing with an HMO can be very dis compassionate. I hope she has an Emily Dickinson kind of doctor who is careful of the culprit life.

We lucked out in having Diamond Lil for a sister in law. A small frail woman pushing 80, nurse family practioner, she finally went with my sister to get some answers, trying to deal with rotating doctors and office people who can't get a phone message straight. not to bum you out, I hope you find someone like Diamond Lil or Homeboy, two doctor types that remember medicine is an art. I hope you can get to see her sometime soon. I was so scared I could not let my kid sister out of my sight while we were playing General Hospital.
