Men, help me out here

Post by Lightning Rod » November 25th, 2004, 9:14 pm

What do you do when you live with a woman who is smarter than you?

Oh, yes I know that women, in general, are smarter than men, but I'm used to having the advantage in this area.

What should I do? Maybe just sit back and enjoy it?

act dumb and revel in the fact you cannot be held responsible for your actions

being dumb, and all...

happy shoot-a-turkey day!

I love this "cannot be held responsible for your actions" thing.

where do I sign up?

Happy TG to you as well, knipster (even though I know that you canucks don't believe in that sort of thing.)

got a belly full of turkey and I'm eyeing the last nip of tequila in this bottle.
wish I could have a nip with you, knip. Someday.

until then, let's just play dumb.

I have a 'cecilism' i wrote many years ago -

women: never marry a man dumber than yourself.

men: never marry a woman that doesn't like you.

in my short life (!) i have seen many a marriage go to hell because the women were much smarter than the man they married... seems they grow disgruntled and bored with men dumber than themselves, and when a woman reaches that point the relationship becomes pretty fucked up.

not only that but why would a woman want to breed a possible dumb person anyway?

I guess you're right cec,

I'm with her, which obviously makes me smarter

because after all, she's with me, and what does that say for her intelligence?

Thank you, Lightning Rod, for your generous Thanksgiving offering.

Of course, as smart as I am, I know it's not just a line.

But if I were smarter, I wouldn't even post to this thread, maybe.

Then again, I was smart enough to find a man to offer me such compliments so I'm proud to be smart enough to thank you for them.

Cecil - If he can out double-talk me, he's smarter than I thought he was. I know nothing this good can last forever and as your Cecilism said, it's quite possible that one of us will eventually get bored and the whole thing will come crashing down around us as if it were a bad dream.... but which one will it be?

I am thankful to have so many smart people in my life.... or is it that I'm smart enough to have so many thankful people in my life? If nothing else, I'm thankful to be smart enough to be able to understand that Canadians DO have Thanksgiving! But you all knew that, didn't you? Well, Cecil knew it and I knew it and I know you knew it, too, LR!

See how smart I've become?

Awww shucks... maybe it was just a line. Sure it was! Me? smarter than LR? That's rich! ha!

You know what the smartest thing I ever did was?

Find LR and welcome him home.

Happy Thanksgiving, all of you! I love you all!

Love,

Doe-doe

dor' - i trust that both of you are smart enough to eliminate boredom from your lives, especially if it threatens the relationship. a little boredom can be good... it causes the imagination to come to life, so to speak, eh?

Boredom? Here? umm... nope... not here, Cecil... I was referring to your Cecilism.. I was being a smart-aleck using smartass double-talk.

We're not bored. Not one bit.

If either one of us were bored, I don't think that would incite imagination... I truly think (being the smart woman that I am), that boredom would tend to make a person decide to look for intelligence on other planets. ;)

We both do have vivid imaginations, you're right........ We imagine the other one is smarter than we are! LOL! Makes for never-ending intrigue.

Love to you and SooZ and Nate... hope your Thanksgiving has been wonderful!

We are thankful to have you in our lives.
