The Ice Cream Man
delivers one more time
this Thursday,
it's been a long summer
into fall,
infusions rallying above
the confusion,
the first packet the
goodies,
the second one filled
with an hours worth
of serious stuff,
all the infusers have been
a love supreme,
I'm talkin' 'bout angels &
all of 'em in their
own way,
it's been a wild trip
and we have been,
"Experienced!"

there was a fellow on the perpetual jamm
from baltimore
whose wife was doing chemothherapy
it was interesting to see another manifestatopn of spirit
in another jewel mine
doc felt a mass
sometimes these things don't pass
we gotta move through them
two little snippets from last day at work
i set up this young lady for an aggressive anti-coag treatment
it took two days
from nebulous uncertainty
swollen legs
bleeding vagina
pain
to affirmation
and recovery
afterwards her mom who had come up from columbia
gave me her thanks
and it was special
an olden woman
bedridden
exhausted and afraid
her daughter at bedside
i saw a garnet ring on her golden little finger
and remarked about it
she said her daughter had given it to her
it was "victorian"
she started to take it off
i said no leave it on
put on my reading and iv starting glasses
for a closer look
the garnet shining dark red on gold
and kissed the ring
we all got a seed
an entity
of worth
diamonds in the rough
all the time

I wanted to answer your post but I didn't know what to say...
dense breasts or something like that
bad genes
my mother with cancer since her forties
me too at Dr. Dretakis's today
Adonis' myth at her desk
she knows my story
she knows I'm afraid
she talks about Kazantzakis this time
and about her more than fifty books about greek mythology and philosophy
and about her travels to Crete
gelatine ecographies again
kisses to cj, the icecream man, jimbo and jimbo's wife... we are enough to form a theraphy group...!!!

Dear W-man and Mr. J-Loco:
Ditto moi.
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000. She had three surgeries, a long chemotherapy followed by many, many x-ray treatments ( 2 per week) and five years of hormones.
I was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2003. After surgery and other gruesomeness, I am o.k..
She too, apparently.
I went to every (20) chemotherapy treatment of hers and most of the x-rays. The hormonal changes, too, were kaleidoscopic.
We just celebrated our happy 22nd anniversary.
Both well, apparently-- though they never tell you you're a hundred percent.
My deep and personal sympathy to you both.
