talking to you is like throwing stones in a well

Post by mindbum » November 16th, 2006, 12:14 pm

talking to you is like throwing stones in a well
wait on an echo to know how you are.

talking to you is like throwing stones in a well
a measure of distance
that can be known for certain
after the third or fourth stone echoes
shapes of things.

you can hear shapes if you listen closely.
hear how sound wraps objects & motion.

talking to you is like throwing stones in a well.

i wish i could hover to see the shapes in the water
made by each stone & the sound that rings out
as the stone sinks in dark water.
seeing with your ears leaves you in the dark
as the stone sinks in deep water
in an emotional key. i wish i could fly.
there's always water. sometimes it stays dark longer.

talking to you is like throwing stones in a well
listen for echo to know what shape you're in.

talking to you is like throwing stones in a well
each stone is a sound that fell in the earth's ear.
godless & songless, western man dances with the stuffed gorilla through all the blind alleys of a dead-end world.

love to bounce ideas off others...

"you can hear shapes if you listen closely.
hear how sound wraps objects & motion"...

love that....

reminds me of how my dub reggae reverb wraps the desert hills....

thankee sire.

sound chases evry crevice and crack of something and bounces back. batty if ye ask me.

my apartment is full of fishtanks. 8 or 9. lots of running water babbling sounds. like a brook in the home. those sounds murmur and merge around all the shapes in the house. books and plants and cats.

funnily enough those particular lines changed slightly in the first edit:
