Indescribable; yet I express

Post by joel » November 27th, 2006, 1:07 am

Indescribable; yet I express
as best I can: were there some phoenix, flashed
upon an earthen sky in clearest light
of dearest life adored, whose flight was pressed
upon the utmost cosmic edge of night
with feather tips for stars and galaxies—
I would that I, as naught mid stark abyss,
might overcome ineptitude for bliss
and overthrow such common fallacies
as swift deny our mythic, benedight,
serenest images of love. How blest
are they, who conjure up sweet thoughts that might
encourage honest loves to speak, who’ve smashed
all pitied fears that loves can’t love profess.
