Bush Sr. Declares Son A Loser

At his final official Leadership Council, today, Florida Govenor Jeb Bush invited Daddy to speak. Unfortunately Daddy broke down, shown on video on CNN's the Situation Room, and declared that his other son, the current President, was incapable of accepting defeat. As he choked back the tears he declared that some people never learn. A clear reference to his namesake in the the White House.

He was celebrating Jebs forced retirement as Govenor, and talking about his victories and defeats when the spirit of the lord came upon him in a swelling epiphany. That upon the mention of the word defeat the image of Chavez's devil Bush came upon the old man, overwhelming him with guilt.

I couldn't find anything on it. Though Bush, Sr. has announced that he will continue his current policies even if only supported by his family. Just what I always wanted in my president!

First President Bush Sobs While Talking of Son
By BRENDAN FARRINGTON, AP

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Dec. 5) - Former President George H.W. Bush came here Monday to talk about leadership and opened his remarks with advice on working with rivals, being patient and building personal relationships.

He then broke down in tears mentioning his son, Gov. Jeb Bush, as an example of leadership and the way he handled losing the 1994 governor's race to popular incumbent Democrat Lawton Chiles. He vaguely referred to dirty tricks in the campaign.

"He didn't whine about it. He didn't complain," the former president said before choking up in front of lawmakers, Gov. Bush's top administrators and state workers gathered in the House chamber for the last of the governor's leadership forums.

As he tried to continue, he let out a sob and put a handkerchief to his face. When he spoke again, his words were broken up by pauses as he tried to regain composure.

In 1994, Jeb Bush appeared to be on his way to victory. The final debate between Chiles and Bush is largely seen as the turning point in the closest governor's race in state history. But just before the election, the Chiles campaign made 70,000 bogus phone calls to elderly voters claiming to be from independent groups. Callers portrayed Bush as a tax cheat and said his running mate, Tom Feeney, wanted to abolish Social Security and cut Medicare.

"A true measure of a man is how you handle victory and how you handle defeat, so in '94 Floridians chose to rehire the governor. They took note of a his worthy opponent, who showed with not only words but with actions what decency he had," Bush said before again sobbing.

After his defeat, Jeb Bush formed a group called Foundation for Florida's Future which promoted education policy. He also helped open a charter school in a poor Miami neighborhood, helped the state Republican Party organize a convention and straw poll to have sway in the 1996 presidential election and lobbied for education and campaign finance reform bills. Bush then won the first of his two terms in 1998.

"The moral of the story is to serve with honor and your governor has served with honor," the former president said.

"I'm the emotional one," Bush said later. "I don't enjoy breaking up, but when you talk about somebody you love, when you get older, you do it more."

This shows he's emotional over Jeb's defeat back in 1994 ... but nothing about "w"

And then there is this other one (excerpt)
When Bush phones home, policy rarely on agenda
By Matt Spetalnick Tue Dec 5, 5:06 PM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush, facing growing public discontent over the Iraq war, admitted on Monday his parents are worried about him but insisted he rarely talks policy with his father.

Bush acknowledged, however, that he did consult with the 41st president before nominating Robert Gates,
CIA director under his father, to replace Donald Rumsfeld as defense secretary. But he said the elder Bush had no advance knowledge of the appointment.

In a rare glimpse of his relationship with the former president after recent signs of possible strains between the two men, Bush told Fox News Channel that he calls his parents every two weeks.

"I love to talk to my dad about things between a father and a son, not policy," he said in the television interview.

"Washington can be a tough town at times and there is nothing better than hearing a loving voice on the end of the phone call occasionally and so I check in with Mother and Dad," Bush said.

I didn't find anything on YouTube, or another political site I visit either - and it would be there if it happened the way this blogger is saying it did.

Good work, thank you for the info. I thought there was something fishy about it. It is so easy to Google, find something that supports the point you are trying to make and then rip and run with it. I am trying to be more circumspect about what I post. Maybe discernment would be a better word.

Listening to Talk of The Nation (,?) the discussion is about the Iraq Study Group report issued this morning. Sounds like there is not much wiggle room for Bush's brain to put a positive spin on it. I have been thinking about Spiro Agnew a lot lately. Wouldn't it be nice? Reminds me of that deck of cards with Saddam as the ace of spades. Rumsfeld was the jack. Cheney is the ace. Bush the joker or the king. Rove the queen.

I worded that quote wrong
just a sound byte I heard
about they pretty well know what the results/consequences/events will be following a troop withdrawl

You know I joined a Quaker meeting a long time ago, I swore to myself that I would study war no mo

But the option of a Barry Goldwater responce of sending an overwhelming force of american soldiers to Iraq is not really an option they say, we have a hollow broken army and maybe marine corps too.

what is going on in our homeland deb?
I have been hearing the R word again

I do not mean to rain on your parade
I am feeling in a Hallelujah state of being too

Trying to access the Iraq study group report for myself before I start loading my brain with all sorts of pundit articles about what it means. I am going to read it befor I read anymore about it.

Someone asked the question or maybe it was a statement
that the man who the report was written for may just toss it in the trash
he don't have to read it

I am going to go listen to hester sing bye bye blackbird again.
