I agree Doreen. Even if we are not traditionally religious we can respect each other, and share in each others' joys and uniqueness......

Merry X-mas,

Christmas is a glorious holiday. It celebrates birth.

It is spring in mid-winter, the evergreen proving continuity.

Christmas focuses on gifts to remind us that the true gift we have for the world is our spirit.

Each one unique. Each one a creator, created by creation itself.

Christmas is one of the most beautiful myths of all.

All myths are for nourishment and expansion of conscious thought.

"que os absuelvo, grita el chacal de la cruz asenina"
Oh yes the weight of tradition. Maybe that is what some folk take as “faith” eh?
Supposed mystical phenomenae are mythologic mythic traditional fables that secure the bound.
Noble ethical treatises do occupy the tenants of religions, yeah, but what matters are issues of conformity to various fantasies….the quandary of our time is the ultimate confusion of Bushkyites who so dominate our beastly non-Beatitudinal redneck capitalist jihad….
Dude: are you insane or just plain schtoopid? I am waiting to read a post written by you which reaches say a 10 grade level of insight. Leave my posts alone and I'll do the same fer u, awraht cowboi?

Oh man, you are capable of cogency beyond my level as well. I sometimes envision El Rod's poetic eye posts as the one competent mind followed by a trail of clowns....

And what fun to be with the women whilst they are chanting to the moon....

Faith is for me a belief in a higher power and/or consciousness.....you acknowledge the power of reason, yet when we come face to face with our base existence, there is mystery.

it is all good jimboloco
mr oso thinks he is a bear
I think he is a buzzard
where would be without the Turkey Buzzard
up to our asses in dead meat?

Turkey Buzzards circle over me
with tender interest
I can hardly wait
until their descent

to pick my mind clean

the strange thing is he believes in sin

he had to throw this at me
really I dig religion too comrade, like the great oceanic sensation one has when committing adultery with some wifey in the parking lot at Target....aw yeahhhhhh

This is very rough draft, sorry

second draft a little better I hope

Christian: One who believes the New Testament is a divinely inspired book admirably suited to the spiritual needs of his neighbor. A. Bierce
I like this one a lot sounds likes The Devil's Dictionary
"It seems not to have occurred to any of these “faithful” humans (whether they are Baptist bonehead sunday schoolers, muslim zealots aiming their prayers towards Mecca, or a small group of intoxicated feminists chanting to the Moon Goddess) that there is no rational explanation or justification for their beliefs."
This is where he started to sound like blah blah blah. For all his talk about monkey's he sounds like he don't know jack shit about physical anthropology. Did you know that bears are the only animal besides primates that has a pendular penis, my twelve year college career as a sophomore is very useful for trivial pursuit.
This monkey brain of ours encapsulates phylogeny I think. not quite a monkey brain anymore, don't he know that religion is wired in. Oh we can rise above it. But we don't need no stinking Bayes' Theorem http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/bayes-theorem/
Rise above with the best of the East and West. I have faith in the great pumkin. Nothing can shake my faith it that. No truth could ever make me doubt Charlie Brown.

********

The Jefferson Bible I watched a cunt face Englishman, one of those dudes that trades on his cute accent, anyway he was on James Dobson's TV Show a very dangerous man (Dobson is one of those guys perezoso is trying to warn us about maybe)
well this guy just wrote a very flattering book about Junior the president of good and evil, the book was about our dear leaders religous faith) the cunt face said that the Jefferson bible was Jefferson's attempt to strip out the super natural from the bible. Dobson let him slide on that one, he was so impressed with cunt face because he was a writer for Time magazine. Imagine that a Time magazine reporter on my show, i that sure makes us main stream . Kept on going on about Time magazine, well folks you heard it from Time magazine so you know it is truth, if we can't faith in Time magazen who else? http://eyler.freeservers.com/JeffBible/
I probably said too much

10-4 back door, I'll shake them, you rake them, shaking the bushes for bears, just trashy trucker talk, heaven is headed west on the ten out of san antone nine hundred miles of open road, I never was much for convoys, the idea is good, a front door to shake the bushes for ol smokey and a back door to give feedback on snakes in the grass that try to infiltrate, in reality a lot of cb rambo's spreading hate and discontent.
"He who can not say there is no redemption is not fit to live" that is from memory I may have quoted Peachey Neitzsche wrong.
I like the bit from Walter Kaufmann where he says that old Neatsch said we are to make our life a garden a refuge for the wretched. or something like that.

"Those who represent the Overman as an incarnation of selfishness are grievously mistaken. It is not his own pleasure that the Overman seeks, but the justification of eternal Becoming, which is the eternal world process....the redemption of humanity through suffering, through great and intense suffering. And out of this intense suffering emerges precisely that supreme object and work of art which is the Overman, who by his deeds shall justify all that which is miserable and pitiable in life, and raise it to a pinnacle of beauty. The Overman modelled in the school of suffering shall in turn reflect his own glory on the whole of life: and life viewed in the wondrous light shed on it by the glory of the Overman shall be redeemed and affirmed and sanctified and justified."

Señor Jimboloco:

Do you even know what that quote means or is from or what this thread is about? The quote is from a writing by Neruda, the great Chiliean marxist poet, in which he discusses the conquisatores' and catholics' murder of the native americans. Bly did a translation. If you read it carefully (use dicitonary) you will note its something like this:

"The jackal of the assassin's cross shouts, "you I will absolve....""

Not traditional at all, dude, and I suspect even yr pal L-rot would dig it....why not use yr brain instead of trying to be the net nanny

Religion is what you make of it because it's a state of mind.

Actually, most religions try to control your mind -- no matter what state it's in.
