'Round Midnight

Post by Lightning Rod » December 29th, 2006, 1:04 am

It's midnight
I've got two cigarettes burning
I don't know what to do about my love life.

I feel like Bukowski on a Sunday morning.
glass is breaking somewhere in the background
my cell is growing smaller

I'm told that it is a cell of my own making
I don't argue with this

Poets need misery, it's the air we breathe
we are made of death and love
and everything in between.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Around Tea TIme

My Rides Here

Hammer hammer
The only way I can live
And write
Gets sloppy sometimes cause I ain’t a writer, I am a talker.
Going to fix what I can but this is all GO from here on down

She started playing Its Too Late, carol king over and over, I always loved that album

But when she said my putz was not big enough anymore, I knew the romance was a goner.
No
that was not it. Not really It was the abortion that killed our romance.

Ah me, was there ever a man more pussy whipped

I got one cigarette burning, two inches Canadian mist and a half a bowl of tea.

Nice pome, Clay, I will always remember that cell where you read Voltaire. I have built my own cell these past twenty seven virginal years. Brick by brick like the Magician of Lublin.

Pardon ramble
Hardly pertinent
But you know my rides hear.

Shelley and Keats were out in the street
And even Lord Byron was leaving for Greece
While back at the Hilton, last but not least
Milton was holding his sides
Saying, "You bravos had better be
ready to fight
Or we'll never get out of East Texas tonight
The trail is long and the river is wide
And my ride's here"

To Elrod!
Love life!
Joy must have misery!
Undressing to soul,
requires
intermittent glarings,
into annoying mirrors.

Look at you,
poet.
Spiraling smoke
signals
snake around you
like a prickly
wool blanket.
Vanity's cruel
process.
Most painful
part of
Love life!
Drink it up!
Eat it out!
Go ahead,
Shout!
Love life!!!!!

You're cool Rod.

Let the words both pain and pleasure
Be in my soul
For it's apart of me as well
All the time
Morning
Noon
Night
Even in my dreams too

What is midnight?

I had misery well before midnight.

Disconnect the hands from clocks, I say.

And most things between the two.

it is a sticky situation
Time was invented by a woman
Mary Anne Timex
pat pending October 12, 6046 BCE

"I would have stayed in your bed for the rest of my life
Just to prove I was right
That it's harder to be friends than lovers
...
But you've never been a waste of my time
It's never been a drag
So take a deep breath and count back from ten
And maybe you'll be alright"
