Drug induced Prophecy.

Post by mnaz » February 4th, 2007, 5:18 pm

Stoner! Get up!
You useless free radical nipping at the youth of my vision for you,
for a strong and free America in the catacomblike nostrils of my duty.

Get up, damn you! This is prophecy!
And such wonderful prophecy as you've never seen,
like visions of winged cherubim with four faces; one lion, one ox, one eagle,
like a meat lover's special doubling up the cherubimlike duality
that guards the entrance to the grand Buddha at Nara.
Ezekiel made me think of pepperoni and a couch.
God bless the convenience of fear and desire!

Back in Texas, citizens camp out in a ditch for awhile, but no matter.
"Get off that damned couch", says the Army, between pizza stints.
"We do the prophet's work!"

Meanwhile, Bible scholars cringe privately over Ezekiel's excesses.
He once ate a scroll containing God's words and it tasted like honey.
Not to be confused with lands of milk and honey (registered trademark).

And the Twentieth Century was fair warning.

Stoner. Stoner!

Stel - lah!

This may be the strangest, most pointless thing I've ever written...

And yet there's something about it....

Yeh, that is tasty...

And they say the prophet Ezekiel actually did this (Ezek. Ch. 2).

Yeh, Ezekiel, the stoner prophet, as D. Plotz put it (check out "Blogging the Bible", on Slate)... Ezekiel, the perfect antidote to Jeremiah's rageaholism in the book just prior (in the Jewish Bible)...

I'm hungry.

i jus' remembered...

ezekiel is the one credited with that "dem bones" (one connected to the other one, and gonna walk again) song... no doubt he spent time in the depths of a desert where bones wash down eventually. no doubt he had something inside his god-given mind that remains debatable. and no doubt the end is nearer today than it was yesterday.

Woah... forgive my rambly last message...

America?? Hadn't heard of that one... (can't find it on All music guide).

No... Ezek. Ch. 37 is the inspiration for that song, wherein the Lord led Ezekiel into a desert valley filled with dry bones, and per the Lord's instruction (and will), dem bones rose up and reconnected and became living humans again...

Note also that Tarantino's Pulp Fiction took verses from Ezekiel-- (as Jules the hitman's pre-deed "speech"...)
