"Forever" is a very long time.
I tried it 2x. Both didn't work out.
This time, I've decided to live in sin instead. It's much more fun.
(I do believe in the ideal of the institution, but I haven't seen it work out very often, though my parents were married for 48 years or so. That's just about the only marriage I've seen that worked.)
Are you engaged to be married or something?

No, I'm not, but the discussion came up at our last little bohemian hippie artist gatherings last night, and my friend announced she'd be marrying sometime next year. It scared me. She's 24, she's succesful, engaged, and living in a nice apartment out in Chicago's wicker park while I and only mildly talented, single and living in a shoebow of a studio off Belmont. (which I also cannot afford. LOL)doreen peri wrote:"Forever" is a very long time.

But the point is... I'm happy with the way my life is. I may be pretty broke at the end of the month, but at least I can pay the bills. It may be slightly lonely in the joint, but at least I own it. It may take all my money, but at least I'm in college. It may impair my vision for awhile, but at least I can drink. Ect. And it scares the shit out of me to think that one day I might have to be reduced to living al ife of happily ever after, married with 2.5 kids in fucking Homewood, illinois to someone named Richard who doesn't smoke!!! ARRRRRGGGHHH! **cringes in fear**

also to J, while I do see the benifits in all the legalities, again, the idea of "belonging to someone" officially just creeps me out, maybe it's the whole control freak thing, christ, who knows? I'm a weirdo hippiefreak who likes her solitary life and fcked notions of solidarity. Any suggestions?
