The Case for War
The Case for War
Evolution is coming like Vegas.
Run the strip in ten flat; drink it under in ten more.
Ride the new, disposable West with a frosty Colt 45.
Forty thou$and rooms all reeking of generic death
and only six bullets; need to trade up,
to atom splittin', chain smokin', steel strokin'
smokin' dogs, everyone's a smokin' gun,
or lit up Tarantino fart; cartoons ablaze.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world,
in my bucolic, narcotic, backwood hippy triple threat,
but the new West is a bit jumpy on the range,
so I strap it on and batten down the hatches,
'cause the network penciled in another war
and barking head booze oozes from a screen.
So let's bring it on! The big one!
Praise G*d and pa$$ the ammo.
Hallelujah! Amen.

yeah Jack... it ain't bad... even if it is a bit of a cartoon, itself...
When I lived in Vegas, they blew up (or down, really) several massive hotels just so they could put up bigger ones. They blew down the Kingdome in Seattle after only 20 years service because the local pro football team said it wasn't good enough... The mob used to run Vegas... well, it still does... the corporate mob... From where I sit, it pretty much runs it all, now, and the global corporate wars are just beginning... and we'll continue to sign up for them at recruiting offices in strip malls across the land, clutching our quaint notions of honor and duty and patriotic thuggery... ultimately, we are the war machine... Ahh, such ungrateful heresy, isn't it?... I mean, what's wrong with corporations? They make life so much easier. They make the trains run on time, and pretty soon you'll be able to pop a pill for just about ailment imaginable... the occasional foreign bloodbath quagmire seems such a small price to pay in the bigger picture... ahh, yes, the bigger picture... and like by die-hard right-wing friend said when I protested the Iraq war... "What's a matter with you? You wanta be able to drive your car, dontcha?"... and so it goes. And goes. And that's a ramble. Cut.

Great read Mnaz, as usual you put it where it belongs and make one think.
Sometimes I wonder, are we just supposed to stop resisting all this shit?
If we stop resisting will it go away like they say? Or will we just go away?
Or, are we already gone?
Einstein said that without bees, we got four years left.
But cell phones rake in so much money.
Pet food poisonings reported late due to money.
Freaked out young men on shooting sprees.
Innocents are always the dead ones.
Innocence is dead. That's the killer.
Tell you what.
The big "buyout" is coming, and the price is gonna be our lives.

"I am a victim of society, and, an entertainer"........DW
Alas he has been for some time, dear. Not sure what is scarier: yankee war ships packed with weapons planes, etc. or the history of Islam....... (tho' of course Russkis have nearly as much firepower as the US does). At least the hicks could slap "Jeee-susss loves ya" on some of the bombs. But blame Billary as well as BushCO for leading the US into this in the 90s (and blame hysterical jihadists as well)Innocence is dead.
The Vegas rant entertains. Yet liberals were behind the creation of the Vegas boomtown nearly as much as conservatives were; and dems generally have no problem working with mobsters when necessary (as some reading of the history of the Kennedy mob will demonstrate). HS Thompson, however sinister, described the bad craziness of Vegas pretty clearly.
well gotta start with uus
gotta stop the demoniziing of other natins
gotta stop the corrupt abuse of power
the history of islam is more than its radical nemesis
islam has a future that will unforld in a positive way
innocence never lived
it was aborted
but wayne newton got it back, baby,
in las vegas

How do you know that? That's an item of faith with NO grounding in the history of Islam. It's really amazing how so-called liberals now think that the code of the Koran is somehow PC: Islamic theocracy means no booze, only like PG movies, censoring of entertainment (including music, theatre, literature), dietary restrictions, women bundled up and not allowed to drive, religious courts, and persecution of the non-muslim infidels: yes, some liberal paradise.

I got no use for Islam and its strains of backward tyranny,
and I also got no use for the disposable, ignorant new West,
with its self-involved disposable $$new morality$$,
and it's clever, back room, smoke-filled deals with the devil.
(as long as there's a payday involved).
I got no use for new disposable Xtian Soldier bigots,
who vote for war criminals with g*d buzzing in their ears.
I got no use for the five or ten-percenters on either side,
and absolutely no use for hyped up militaristic folly,
or oval office talking points of goddamed smirking oil men,
who reek of unleaded collateral damage.
Oh hell...
maybe Arm-a-giddin's a comin' after all...
Never mind.

Yes, Mnazandias the Wise, your vision! Chandala, like, about everywhere. uh Ezekiel said much the same circa 500 bc.
Vegas is demon land, 'tis true. And water is drying up. Thank all the freedom-worshipping liberals who supported legalized gambling, casinos, brothels, booze, massive golf courses, etc. as much as the hick conservatives. Even the MormBots fought against the mob back when they started building their Miami like haciendas.
