i touched your face

Post by inkedgoddess » April 29th, 2007, 11:19 am

In a sweep of leaves
you rose, above
the altar of october

the autumn theme
in lieu of green
beheld the sycamore

her faded Spring
now blushing plaid

the newborn season
in the gifting of its color

release and grieve

the trees remiss

the sojourn
of both butterfly and leaf

the summer's throne
has long been vacant

and in the painting
of the calling
where you came to be

i touched your face
with full intent

but forsaken
was a lovers' kiss

left instead
to silent longing
as i guessed

you were divine

and brought salvation
to another's lips

i touched your face

though silenced
was your kiss,

as i wondered
of what i chose not
to resurrect

had you felt it

through this veil
of pretense

none the less?

The unspoken said.
This is really powerful to me...
wondering, positive, fond, wise.

Damn good read.
