Nice line
Well titled too.
Just a coincidence
I was thinking about you this week
I thought you were a punk once upon a time
Now I understand you are a dharma bum
soul sewn to the universe
I wish I could remember what it was that made me think of you a coupleof days ago. It had nothing to do with you. But you popped into mind with the thought, "Ronnie is living it."

yeah, I've been doing a bit of sight seeing......left Oregon and took the slow way through California, hooked over and played in vegas for about six months and then travelled over to Denver for a little hide and seek with Cassidys ghost. Just got back into Dirty Jersey a few nights ago so I can say hi to a coupla brothas and sistas. Probably won't stay here for too long, I am thinking about heading to New Orleans where my construction skills can be put to good use.

I couldn't have said it better Scoot....
Hey Ronnie, most mysterious nomadic one, how are you?
I got out of Astoria like I said I was gonna!
Really glad I did.
I was really not happy there anymore.
Always good to hear from you...tell us more.
(I worry about you, in my irritable way.
)

Heard a bilge borne rumor he was setting a course for the northwest coast of North America around the Endo of Mayo-Firsto of Juno

I have nailed my shoes to the kitchen floor. But I still like to
fantasize about the road
I guess I am looking for vicarious thrills
I been wondering what you travel with, I know you must be travelling light but I wonder about what books you might carry with you stuff like that.
That may seem like an odd question but it is an interesting subject for me. Kerouac gave an inventory of what he was taking with him on his first trip across the country. There is a book about the soldiers in Vietnam called The THings They Carried With Them.
It took quite a while for me to figure out what I needed to survive on the road living out of a back pack. Later it got easy when I travelled with the ball and chain of a big truck.
I just remembered where I first heard or read the word yabyum , an epiphany of sorts.
I always carried three or four books in my backpack. But when I became a trucker I rode around with a library, I even had the big condensed two volume OED with me.
Happy motoring compadre

I like that question.
I travel very light. Only one backpack containing two changes of clothes, one journal, toilet things, some pens, and lots of trail mix and water. Every material possesion I aquired where I resided, is left alone or sold.
I used to carry a suitcase in wich I carried all 13 of my prior journals, but they were proving to cause writers block so I sent them to freind.
Money is good to have, but as I have tested and proved, not an excuse for one to never try.
Funny you mention the "ball and chain big rig".....
On the bus through somewhere I had a long conversation with the greyhound driver about his driving career and have since been seriously thinking that driving a rig may just be a fine life to look into.....
but then again.....I'm also positive I'll be paid to surf one day too.
