word licked today
talking all day at work
to women mostly
seeking the fountain of youth

If I ever get reincarnated as a woman, I would like to be born old from day one. Seventy at least.

I ain't had my head out the door in eight hours
This morning just before sunrise
cool breeze
not exactly cool
by Maryland Mountain standards
for for may in texas it was sweet.
overcast sky
and the wetherman says 20% chance of rain
Petter Sellers being there
"Chance Gardiner"
Trying to attune my body to mother earth
at long last
thinking about a two word jam
and gardens

more ramble

got no beat
but I sure feel beat

going to walk my foo dog
feel alive

last night
blends into the night before
and the day,
(sigh)
--
but tonight
is club night.
(smile)
strangers gather
and exhale
and inhale
poems to a beat.
stories laid out in hallucinatory form...
and,
(whisper)
we pretend
we're other people
(pause)
because we wish
(we all do)
that we had been there.
THERE!
with ginsberg and kerouac
cassady and corso.
(shout:)
and the women?
where was their voice?
what was their voice?
(sigh)
perhaps they'll be there tonight,
instead.
it's club night.
(smile)

Beat women
Diane Diprima
awesome poet
have you read her memoirs?
Ann Waldman an awesome
poet and performer and
co-founder of the Jack Kerouac
school of disembodied poetics
I recently have been
reading the work
of Joanne Kyger....she went
to Japan and India
with Gary Snyder....Her journal
from the India trip
far outshines Gary's......
the Beat lives and
finally with a semblance of respect
for I do remember
when Jack was a laugh
and the Buddha was a joke about a sitting
fat man.....
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

The clock is ticking hazy lazy
May daze
I been stoned for a week
Tomorrow I try again

sitting there in that high seat
stone cold sober
high on my number one drug
which is #2 deisel fuel
rolling thru the night
desert starry nights
white outs on interstate 80 in Wyoming
slidding down the mountain side in Colorado

I don't get around much any more
but I take delight where I have been
an old man remembers joy

now I nailed my shoes to the kitchen floor
looking for vicarious thrills
I cruise these internet highways
still addicted to the grind
and Gary Snyder asked
"Why do log truck drives arise earlier than students of Zen?"
because there is no other life.

10 minute countdown
on library computer
i likes the limits
good for a puter junkie
coffee house sitting earlier
myspace sifting the bands
all of us fabulous
all of us on the pedestal
call it cyber realm
floating on word clouds
and how we do shine
2w0rds 3 words even 5 words
lil by lil
heading to the studio
much to do yet not work
more like a passion
visions emerging from
a life spent on the edge
manana i'll go back to sowebo
and see what i left behind
never permanenetly gone from the hood
it is my destiny deep down inside
frederick a welcome respite
but definitely not a hide-a-way
it's a happenin here
and i'm a glad i came with my wireman raga game.............
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

ten minutes to GO

rose of sharon blooming at my front door
my second spring here in the hood
ten of us geezers living here in this senior village by the rail road tracks
just off the end of the run way of the air force base
which is about a hundred yards on the other side of the tracks.
from my back porch I have an un obstructed view of the passing gaudy graffiti spray painted box cars.

A lot of trains rolling this memorial day. But no war birds flying overhead today.

the clock is ticking and I am still living like a teen ager
as if I am going to live for ever

I am never far from the road, somehow those passing freights are like temple bells for me.

nine minutes
one minute to go
arbitrary limits
I am lost in time
body and soul entwined at last

I hope this was a good day for you Mark
I been almost on the verge of tears a couple times today
reading soldier's stories on the blogs.

times up

coffee
house
cyber
tapping
wonder where it leads
to sipping
thinking
dripping grape thoughts
through green leaves
elevating the dimensions
corresponding motivation
with need

heady demarcation

and behind the eyes
leaden repose
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse
