Home Sweet Home

Post by hester_prynne » May 20th, 2007, 4:22 pm

I found me a groovy little duplex to rent yesterday. Very residential, nice trees, a woodstove, dishwasher, (wow), it just spoke to me when I saw it, so that's how I knew it was the one.
Soon my midlife transition will be at level OP. (Own Place). Heh.
I wonder if it will feel differently not living here with my sister, which has been really nice. We get along and she's been good company.
Nope, soon I'll be living here, by meeself in a flat I like, working, waiting for Stella to get home from the east coast, and whatever comes next is a mystery.
Cool eh?
Tell me about your home. Apt? House? Wha? Do you live alone? Like it?
Ever made a transition after living somewhere 13 or more years?
Praytell!

a wood stove! so cool.
When do you move in?

When i first came to Israel, i was moving every 9 months or so. This kibbutz is the longest i've been in one place - and yeah - it'll be going on 13 years. Weird to say that.
Since we've landed here, i've always considered it another station on the road. My mind's now built that way. With every move a redefinement of needs - a chance to start clean.
But with gyspy nomadic mentality, there's a kind of non-attachment to surroundings that i really like. Keeping everything clean - making changes now and then, learning how easily i can misplace things unless i work a system.
Gypsy nomad mentality is a good mid-life condition.

But still, Hester, a wood stove!
please offer a photo when you can.

Alright Hes!

Nothing like it, that feeling of "home".
I'm struggling with it now, the details of it...
but you seem to dial it all in fairly quickly...
you seem to have that awareness...

home is word containing power only second to the word love.
its good to have one.
I have had transition after never longer than one year.
my house is always borrowed beg for and some moments dug.

(glad to hear some cheer in words written from you, Hester....)

p.s.
Stella is on the east coast?
well then, she is in good company. She is with honest, fast talking philosophers. (surfers, I hope) Hes...you'll dig what she digs out here.
