Better than gold

Post by hester_prynne » May 28th, 2007, 2:39 am

Standing,
each evening,
on deck
of my youth.
My head,
lighter of
angst,
comf ter blee older now.
Enough to cherish,
what I never knew
I missed.

Evergreen branches,
next to the old porch,
creak in the wind.
I heard them for
the first time this time.
Apologized for not
hearing them wail
years ago,
over my own,
silent, teenaged
screams.

Nightmares I left here
stayed on.
No longer to haunt me.
I hold them gently
in my open
cupped hands now.
Coo them,
count them,
like blessings,
tenfold times,
better than gold.

reclaim and reown
thing long left alone
way back are regrown
like seeds that were sown
from flame shine pine cone
new flesh on old bone
piano's tuned tone
and worthiness prone
to what you alone
make up on your own

I really love this...
comf ter blee older now.
Enough to cherish,
what I never knew
I missed.
and so cherish.

I know I do.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse
