Epiphenomenalism
http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/epiphenomenalism/
I suppose I will have to google.
But I have gone off the idea of a mind body duality,
must be senility
I think my consciousness is a brain state
but who is watching the store?
moment to moment
between my thoughts
don't mean nothing
just my wandering thoughts.
as I listen to my ragged breath
and cough

If I can move a curser on a computer by thinking/willing it to move does that relate to epiphenomenialism?Daniel Dennett: The New Epiphenomenalism
Daniel Dennett, a philosopher at Tufts University, is a forceful proponent of the idea that consciousness is "no big deal." He claims that it does not exist except in the eye of the beholder.
Scientists have shown that information coming into the brain is broken down into separate processing streams. But no one has yet found any "place" where all the information comes together, presenting a whole picture of what is being felt or seen or experienced. The temptation, he said, is to believe that the information is transduced by consciousness. But it is entirely possible that the brain's networks can assume all the roles of an inner boss. Mental contents become conscious by winning a competition against other mental contents, Dennett says. No more is needed. Consciousness is an epiphenomenon, a mere side-effect.

The first time I heard the word was today. I was surfing for some info on meditation in plain language.
Quantum Weirdness
then from there I went to here
Nature herself does not know what she will do next And that is where I heard the word for the first time.
I don't know much about Zen, just what has rubbed off on me from wireman, jimbo, cecil, soozen et al
But it appeals to me
moment to moment
Zen appeals to me at a quantum level
It is my own
"One Fortunate Attachment."
Strange how I surfed to that, totaly random, serindipitous surfing.
Quantum mechanics ain't for grease monkeys like me.
I just like the sound of the word

cateterism/cateterismo
it seems is an study of your arteries
the actual cardiologist told my father to do one in the left coronaria as maybe a step from a stem (or something like that)... we told him with my brother last weekend to make a consulta with other cardiologists since this one is rather new and the others that had before only control and medicate him the blood pressure but desestimated obstructions problems... (here you change doctors all the time, is a national hobby). Well, my father reacted as we would kill him. We saw him so ready for a heart attack that at a point was funny... now, thanks family-talking-teraphy all is calmer and he accepted to do some interconsulta...

Hippocratic:
http://www.geocities.com/everwild7/noharm.html"Declare the past, diagnose the present, foretell the future; practice these acts. As to diseases, make a habit of two things — to help, or at least to do no harm."
confusion
that worked aparently for some ours and at last the only optimists about the ABC options that will may turn soon into AB seemed to be my brother and I (little detail) not him... well, he´s not deciding if he wants to eat a chicken, a cow or a fish... "I pay them to decide and I have to decide for myself..."... maybe we just blurred his blind-faith-fate with all our interconsulta thing... damn...

I think it takes a lot of will power to live with a dicky heart. My brother a doctor now in his seventies
He had a heart attack, two of them actually last one about twenty years ago. He turned his life around, had a collection of tobacco pipes some in the hundreds of dollars, smoked expensive cigars, over weight. He gave all his pipes away, quit smoking became a fanatic about walking and biking, and a healthy diet. He had a good doctor gave it to him straight about the surgery bypass thing. Back then the odds were fifty fifty maybe they are better now. But my brother chose not the surgery but the healthy life style.
I think he has nitro glycerine too, but does not take all the time not sure how that works. jimbo knows probably.

hyperreality:
Wilhelm A. R. Tilton2. Modern feminism and Baudrillardist hyperreality
“Reality is part of the genre of sexuality,” says Lyotard; however, according to von Junz[2] , it is not so much reality that is part of the genre of sexuality, but rather the defining characteristic, and hence the meaninglessness, of reality. The economy, and subsequent meaninglessness, of Marxism intrinsic to Rushdie’s Satanic Verses is also evident in The Ground Beneath Her Feet. Thus, Baudrillard uses the term ‘postdialectic capitalism’ to denote the common ground between class and consciousness.
If one examines Marxism, one is faced with a choice: either reject the conceptualist paradigm of discourse or conclude that art may be used to oppress the Other. A number of deconstructions concerning Baudrillardist hyperreality may be found. However, Foucault’s model of the conceptualist paradigm of discourse holds that sexuality is dead, given that Baudrillardist hyperreality is valid.
In the works of Rushdie, a predominant concept is the concept of capitalist reality. Marx uses the term ‘Marxism’ to denote not, in fact, discourse, but neodiscourse. It could be said that if the postdialectic paradigm of context holds, we have to choose between Marxism and cultural narrative.
Several deconstructivisms concerning the role of the poet as artist exist. However, Dietrich[3] states that the works of Rushdie are an example of self-fulfilling feminism.
Sartre promotes the use of the conceptualist paradigm of discourse to deconstruct capitalism. It could be said that the subject is contextualised into a Baudrillardist hyperreality that includes language as a totality.
If the conceptualist paradigm of discourse holds, we have to choose between Foucaultist power relations and dialectic pretextual theory. In a sense, Sontag uses the term ‘Baudrillardist hyperreality’ to denote a mythopoetical paradox.
Derrida’s critique of Marxism holds that expression is created by the masses. Therefore, the primary theme of the works of Rushdie is the genre, and some would say the collapse, of capitalist society.
The subject is interpolated into a posttextual paradigm of narrative that includes art as a totality. It could be said that the feminine/masculine distinction depicted in Rushdie’s The Moor’s Last Sigh emerges again in Midnight’s Children, although in a more self-falsifying sense.

fifty
instead 100. The doctor gave him fifty something of nitroglicerine but the farmaceútico gave him 100 something. Other little confusion. As he told me he was afraid of take it because the contraindications plus he was taking other medicine that as he said makes him a bit dizzy. Lucky thing!. I suggest him to go again to the doctor but alone this time and told him that he wasn´t secure and that he was afraid. And to do what he thinks it might feel him better. I also called my brother to suggest to call him. Well, me and my suggestions...!! But this week I limit myself to only phone him. I´m on vacations, but he must supposed I´m busy on something. I didn´t want to decide for him, he desesperately want someone to decide for him but I´m not in the mood for that. Yesterday he called me saying that he went to the nitroglicerine-doctor, the medication dosis was aclarada and that now he felt better with the other plus pill he was taking (not dizzy and with no chest oppresion when he did some effort). He also said that he will start taking the nitroglicerine thing this weekend. I guess is only for a month. He´ll come today for dinner, I´ll wish him luck!!

Sophistry:
They say it began with the 1964 election. Billions of dollars spent by neo con think tanks since then. You see them on the eveving news and the week end news shows. You can know them by their nice suits and american flag lapel pins. They make so much sense. Is Karl Rove the Pillsbury dough boy?
