On the way to the Kremlin

Post by Totenkopf » July 16th, 2007, 7:49 pm

Life for most humans
resembles something
like, well, we don't have
time to derive some real
creative analogy, but
akin to say being
confined to a bunkbed
with a family
of elephantitis -ridden
circus clowns; they all
phighting and phucking
ya know Ma Elephantitis,
Insatiable as any beast,
weighs in at like 500 plus
leaves her Big Top makeup on
after work, while Pops some greasy
little Ringleader takes cares of
bidness where he can:
well perhaps
not such a grand metaphorical
prelude.
Nestor Makhno (he lives in cyberia now)
understood the bloodsport of
CircusWorld; Sad Nestor, imprisoned
for years, abused (as his forefather
Bakunin was, strung up
on a prussian wall---no Monty
Pythons around to
pull some marionette
strings) stood in the center ring, opposed to
stalinist and nazi; white and not-white,
like a red and black striped
Big Top
and all the
Blackies and Patches
Mad Turks and fat ladies
assorted carny riff raff
are armed to
the teeth
with way
dread
scimitars

is there any way you have of recording your voice?

I would love to hear your voice doing this piece.

Thanks. I don't really have recording gear. It's a bit mad: brought about by reading a bit about the Bolsheviks' liquidation of ukrainian partisans-- not really "poem" but historical journal entry. Makhno, who had assembled a sort of ragtag anarchist army, was called rightist and anti-semite by VI Lenin and pals (before they seized all the Ukrainian farms, and killed 1000s), and leftist-anarchist by the White russians and kulaks (most rich German peasants). His life was sort of like Max Beckmann-or maybe Fellini like. Fortunately Mahkno lived (I think Emma Goldman met him at one point, as did the italian anarchist Malatesta, who respected him). His writing is pretty radical, and marxist, but not soviet.

Nestor met VI Lenin,
so the story goes.
VI asked Nes
why in the F.
aren't your
peoples
with the Soviets?
Not sure how
Nestor responded,
but ah wager it was
tragic, as tragic
as some noize
playin' on de radio
all over the peoples' forests

Online, narrative material
exists, suggesting that
Some X
with the name of
Goldman, Emma
met with an Y,
named
Makhno, Nestor,
revolutionary
anarchist.
They may have
even slept together,
assuming they existed, but
Nestor couldn't
speak English, so
at some point
he said FUCK
in Ukrainian,
ah wager.

Thx H., I guess.

Nestor possessed no computer.
Some primitive Kossack
(as in Tartar Kossack,
not Kossack.com)
gear, a revolver he
may have owned,
if ownership was
verboten nicht
among his
syndicate.
Guns and butter;
sickle, hammer.
Gunpowder, as
both Rot und Schwarz
know,
keeps the byatch
movin'................

Ah yes "Red Emma" she never said it but some how it's sold on t - shirts. "If I can't dance I don't want to be in your revolution" but yet it's so tied in with her.

This is a sculpture that is located at Beloit College in Wisconsin and is to honor Emma Goldman.

I don't know if this is true or not but when Emma Goldman died in Canada was going to be brought to Chicago to be buried. The government said that they wanted to be sure that she was dead. They thought that she was going to fake her own death so as to get back into the US.

This picture that I came across some years ago. I used in as material for a mail art project. When I got my refund check from the IRS. I used the envelope and placed the picture of Emma Goldman's mug shot in the window of the envelope and I think I sent it to some political group here in Madison that had a penance for Goldman. But then again I might have sent it back to the IRS with the writing on the outside of the envelope saying, "Thanks for supporting the revolution."

Donkey-Shane, Hes and DtD. Yes that appears to be Miss EmmaG. Interesting figure (Maureen Stapleton played her in Beatty's Reds).

The writing is not meant as an endorsement of Goldman's or Nestor Makhno's political programmes, however.
