Thanks for D's "Lower Alley"

Post by joel » August 21st, 2007, 1:38 pm

The birth of heartache’s monumental kiss—
a block or so off Bauer Drive (and but
a skip from gate-signed Flower Valley) is
the memory of sweetest flavor cut
more deeply in my sense of self than spit
and, too, mine own saliva—kissed, but lost
and now more naught than love’s prerequisite
to future match—a morning holocaust
of openness impassioned. Like a whore
I turn her tricks; and like a wick turned in
upon its self-made waxy snuff before
day’s time enough to shine, I fold—but grin—
remember when Doreen had fixed the sign?—
less F, less V—the Lower Alley’s fine.

hehe... cool, joel!

love it! ;)

ps, did you get the gig? :)

(note to all - when joel came to visit, i told him the story of how my friends and i removed the F and V from the Flower Valley sign... a neighborhood in Maryland. We were kids... at least it was creative vandalism. lol... later they replaced the sign with a concrete one :))
