Kalamazoo Nazis? I hate Kalamazoo Nazis!

I knew there was a stench in the air! As usual, the counter-protest far outstripped the number of white supremacist who showed up. Contrary to this article (http://www.wzzm13.com/news/news_article ... ryid=78873), four arrests were made and several people were trampled by horses. One guy was arrested for kicking a horse, as the cop kept running into him. She then proceeded to grab him by the hair and ripped some of it out along with part of his scalp. The usual abuse of power by those who are paid to protect us. Apparently, the local KKK and Neo-Nazis 1st amendment rights (which are, of course, valid) trump the rights of those who actually own a brain.

I quote from someone who was there:
'I was the "interfering with an officer." I wasn't interfering at all actually, I was simply asking him why we were not allowed near the bandshell. he said "Do you want to get arrested?" And I said "Go for it." And next thing I knew I was sitting in the county jail.

My friend was "resisting and obstructing" ... resisting for her was just falling to her knees when they handcuffed her, and then she lifted up her knees when they tried to walk her away.'

Another shout-out to the media for the never ending pursuit of the truth. I guess 'peaceful' (quoted from the article above) would be the correct word if you were comparing to the Toledo riots. There, at least, they know how to welcome white supremacists.

Also found out the the KKK has an office in downtown Kalamazoo. Really, this isn't a surprise. Its Michigan's dirty secret that its pretty much the most racist state that wasn't a part of the Confederacy. Honestly, my dad grew up about 5 miles away from the Imperial Wizard (or whatever his name is) of the Ku Klux Klan.

Yuck.

"Also found out the the KKK has an office in downtown Kalamazoo".
sad... (I hope they only have will to play chess indoors), but thinking twice it would also be dangerous...

Yeah there was a little Nutzi rally here in Madison last fall. More anti - Nutzi to the less Nutzi themselves. Cordoned off with the police presence big time. But no at least I don't think there was any grabbing by the scalp courtesy of the police. There was how ever a lot of shouting back and forth and guys in pink bunny outfits smoking cigars. I wasn't there but I think there's video of it somewhere on Youtube for you to see it. The KKK used to have a chapter here on the UW here in Madison. This was waaaaaaay back in the 1920's. I guess KKK was something to be gosh to back then. I never thought the Mason - Dixon line was that far north???? Hey is that "Militia Movement" still going on over there in Michigan these days or is it end sometime ago????

Sometimes I take two aspirin never sure, if my head ache connected to the eye witness news blues. I am not up to reading the link yet. At least the american dream of own a brain of one's own is still alive and well. If not our dream of of owning a home

Go for it, good answer but I would have rather less resistance, but then I weigh probably twice as much as she did. THey probably would have neede a stretcher to carry me off. Then beat the hell out of me later for making them work so hard.

Classics professor once told us that the Athenians were so jealous of their freedoms of citizenship that they had to uses slaves for police because they did not want to give one citizen power of arrest over another.

I been thinking about Ted Nugent a lot.
I suppose he is a rock and roll god
shitz here comes an unrelated tangentential off topic comment

Nugent carries a couple of badges
he arrested a guy at a protest because he threatened his life and his family.

I been thinking about listening to a couple of his songs
any suggestions?

when i went on The Last Patrol to miami beach in August1972 with the nam vets against th war, some american nazis took over a stage there in flamingo park, jeez, that was 35 years agooooo

we had a confab, the medic van was nearby

Jimbo said

All I could do now is slow them down a little jim
give you time to hit him with your best shot.

Ted Nugent from michigan he lived with the MC5 back in the sixties big national star at 17 with his band The Amboy Dukes.

Wrote a lot of songs about drugs says he never did them

says an old time black musician legend told him to stay with his music and one day he would be a n*gger. He is very proud of that comment says he don't have a prejuidice bone in his body.

I wondered what Boho another michigan native thought of his music or the amboy dukes

sorry if I got off topic again bohonato

Partying While Baghdad Burns

While death benefits for troops in Iraq remain at $12,000, George W. Bush is throwing himself a $40 million party to celebrate the first time in his life he out-achieved his father. But the dynastic dysfunction continues into the next generation.

The Bush twins wanted to book Kid Rock to headline the inauguration youth concert they are hosting. But the White House was forced to disinvite him after family values groups complained about his vulgar, sex-soaked lyrics, including these lines from "Pimp of the Nation":

Pimp of the Nation, I could be it
As a matter of a fact, I foresee it
But only pimpin' hoes with the big tush
While you be left pimpin' Barbara Bush

This leaves the Bush daughters with a problem: What star from the thin ranks of white male rappers can replace Kid Rock? It seems unlikely to be fellow Detroit native Eminem, who sang in his explosive pre-election release "Mosh":

Let the president answer our high anarchy
Strap him with an AK-47, let him go fight his own war
Let him impress daddy that way

As for the Beastie Boys, they rapped in "It Takes Time to Build":

Maybe it's time that we impeach Tex
And the military muscle that he wants to flex
By the time Bush is done, what will be left
Selling votes like E-pills at the discotheque
Environmental destruction and the national debt
But plenty of dollars left in the fat war chest

Of course, they can't invite any of the musicians from the pro-Kerry, Vote for Change concerts: Bruce Springsteen; Pearl Jam; R.E.M.; Jackson Brown; Bonnie Raitt; Ben Harper; Crosby, Stills, & Nash; Sheryl Crow; Dave Matthews; the Dixie Chicks; Foo Fighters; Tracy Chapman; or Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds.

Is anyone left?

There are always the Republican stalwarts Ted Nugent and Brooks & Dunn. But here's to hoping the Bush twins invite the Olsen Twins. It would be one wild and crazy after-party: "Double, double the trouble, double, double the fun."

GOP Throws All Financial Support Behind One Candidate

October 30, 2006

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--With just seven days remaining until the mid-term elections, the National Republican Congressional Committee has allocated its remaining $256 million cash-on-hand to Arizona incumbent J. D. Hayworth's campaign, in the hopes of retaining at least one House seat. "Considering Rep. Hayworth's strong stance against terrorism and this infusion of money, we're feeling really good about this race," said White House chief strategist Karl Rove, who is personally managing the remainder of Hayworth's campaign from his Scottsdale office."He's going to be in a very competitive position if he spends just 90 percent of this money attacking [challenger Harry] Mitchell." Hayworth will be joined at campaign events this week by 23 prominent Republicans, including Dick Cheney, John McCain, Bill Frist, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rudolph Giuliani, Ted Nugent, and Rupert Murdoch. In a poll released today, Mitchell leads Hayworth by six points.

Sorry, I was camping on Lake Huron in Ontario (where, by the way, in 12 days the only time I saw a cop was one directing traffic for a flea market.)

Dave The Dov Oh my my, the Michigan Militia! http://www.michiganmilitia.com

stilltrucking No, I don't think you're off topic. Its more of an evolution of the topic. Truth be told, I've never really listened to Ted Nugent. I know his more popular tunes, like Cat Scratch Fever, but I would hate to judge him solely on that. But then again, I don't have any particular inclination to listen to any of his other stuff. He lived with the MC5? Wonder how that worked out.

jimboloco 'Nonsense'. That's really all that needs to be said. Both Kid Rock and Eminem's cousin went to my high school. Metrotimes named Kid Rock the Boob of the Year (2006), as he built his career off of the Detroit hip-hop scene, and then when he got famous became this red neck caricature that loved his guns and rebel flag. Seems to be following the steps of the Motor City Mad Man. Surprised that Bush didn't get Toby Keith to play at his bash. I quote:

'And you’ll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
Cause we`ll put a boot in your ass
It`s the American way'

Who can argue with poetry like that?

He just played Detroit like two weeks ago! A friend of mine won two free tickets through the Free Press, but of course she takes her boyfriend. Figures. I heard it was a good show.

He also had a memoir/essay piece on the 1967 riots in the last issue of Rolling Stone. Don't worry, he's still around.
