Luciano Pavarotti

Post by bohonato » September 7th, 2007, 1:06 am

The opera icon Luciano Pavarotti died this morning at 71.

And so, I am mourning his passing with a celebration of his life. I don't know how many other opera fans are on here, but I think everyone will appreciate the beauty of his music and his voice.

This is Nessun Dorma from Turandot, written by quite possibly my favourite composer of all time, Giacomo Puccini.

If you rather, you can check him out live here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdTBml4oOZ8.

Not a fan of opera... but a fan of Pavarotti. One of the strongest, purest voices I have ever heard. Years ago I picked up a CD of his, Pavarotti & Friends (#1), which featured folks like Sting, Aaron Neville, Bob Geldof and one fellow I'd never heard before, Zucchero. Luciano did a duet with Zucchero, the song Caruso, that has more soul than I've heard in many a moon... emotionally fantastic!

Thx, Boho!

I love this one. I could listen to him sing forever.

Pavarotti and Jon Bon Jovi...a weird combo I know, but I think it's lovely, simply lovely.
Let it rain

What a voice. A voice suited for heaven I think.
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse
