ROOTS

Post by izeveryboyin » September 8th, 2007, 10:19 am

I had this big epic tirade in my head that I was going to post about how people's faces change in certain company... how people loose themselves, loose who they are, if for just a moment, in order to become exceptable. But you know what? How can I blame them? The land of eccentricity is very lonely, and even I myself have been guilty of playing w/masks. Every once in awhile you experience something that gives you the feeling of unearned superiority and you feel the need to let the world know just how far above that situation you are. But what is that if not a form of seeking praise and acceptance? We cannot escape this need. It is programmed into our minds from the second they develop. Inside the womb we are more closely bonded w/another human being than any of us could ever hope to be on the outside. And from that moment on, we cannot live without it. From that moment on we begin to depend on it to sustain us. Most living creatures do. It is just unfortunate that sometimes you must loose yourself in order to become excepted by someone else. It cheapens the experience. After thousands of years of evolution, you'd think we'd have eventually gotten past that sort of thing. Perhaps it's just a case of old habits dying hard. Or perhaps the human race, for all it's innovations in technology and government and style are simply too stupid to grasp that we would all be better off staying true to who we are, no matter who is in the room. Image and ideal matter too much. The mirror dictates more of our lives than some of us would be willing to admit. It dictates parts of mine that you wouldn't even think were connected to appearance. I wonder how much simpler life would be without that damn mirror. Or better yet, I wonder how much simpler it would be if to look in the mirror meant to see the truth, inside and out, instead of just a shadow of the truth based upon societal guidelines. We are so much more beautiful than we allow ourselves to be. We have so much more potential than we are willing to use. And most of us never know it's there. What a world.

END.

beautiful song l-rod!!

izzy:

"Every once in awhile you experience something that gives you the feeling of unearned superiority and you feel the need to let the world know just how far above that situation you are. But what is that if not a form of seeking praise and acceptance? We cannot escape this need". Need of acceptance, need to discriminate, need of freedom, need of choice all together... maybe!! and the feeling that someone is in the house is stronger that the one that nobody is in the house most of the time, I guess!.

A place full or mirrorrs or a person who thinks he/she´s a big mirror or to think that someone wants only to be a mirror are one of the most uncanny and at the same time funny things!!

"We are so much more beautiful than we allow ourselves to be. We have so much more potential than we are willing to use". I totally agree with that.

My only mirror is in the bathroom, I wave to the image some minutes ago..!

it's amazing how terrifying mirrors can be. Especially after you've just had a baby and you think your boyfriend might be cheating on you.

Oh, Izzy, you said a mouth full in your initial post. And said it well.

And I couldn't agree more.

Chin up my girl. You're a delight.

I'm remembering some lines from some movie where the guy/gal says
with a twinkle in their voice..."There's more?" "Oh yes, there's always more!"

Please God let it be more better.

Oh, and ps: I've been checking out your baby pics. What a doll! Congratulations Izzy. You made a person! *hug*

Glad somebody finds me delightful mousey. Keep talking like that and I might have to ask you to marry me. Isn't it amazing that mother nature even allowed someone like me to make a person?! Let alone one so bright and beautiful. What blessings... what blessings.

It really is a blessing isn't it, the making of a baby. Not only is the process fun but you have years and oodles of enjoyment ahead. Yaz, I'm sure it's lots and lots of work, a thankless tasks sometimes too I'm sure. But great mothers are made not born. At least I think. And if one trusts in love, and makes absolutely certain, for this is a must, that this little person, this little baby feels the love, is snuggled and cuddled and yes, occasionally tough loved, the little tyke will turn out well adjusted and happy.

It is so important to feel loved, to know you are loved.

I'm sure you're a great Mom, Izzy.

And I'd marry you in a thrice if you'd have me...except...well...your parts are all in the wrong order!!! I prefer outties not innies. Heh heh, nothing personal, I'm sure you understand! :P Oh, wait, now that I think about it I do like innies... Okay, well now I'm just confusing the issue...but I'm sure you know what I mean!

Okay, shutting up now.
