always walking the streets of mobtown'
in my memories of a happy childhood

wired in fredrick md
wired in b'more
wired in Sanato
wired is where the heart is
I just got home again
the sun is setting somewhere across the ocean
I just discovered america
I found the light
but
it lies to me of
autumn winds
global warming
well if you don't like the weather around these parts
wait a few more decades.

I been noticing the light a lot lately
I have seen that golden light more than once
I i keep forgetting

Almost awake
four thirty PM central time

who'd a thunk it
you ser out to do
a poetry/music
art show performance
and it becomes a
tribal dance party
it's one hell of a feeling
we rocked the gallery
and did the boogie
2night..........

small town and texas
freight trains and usaf fighters
silence comes and goes
the sounds wash over me
I am
riding the waves
life is a current
we flow along
ups and downs
and blues men
to keep us a float

the elephant swims
he's in the flow
just as wire wraps
it releases
never grasping
to hold
always being temporal
taking the moisture
turning it to red patina
bordering on brown
never wasted wire
always structured
in improvisation
the same as words
beat out spontaneously
it is all about flow and
non-clinging..........

Sometimes when I would walk by her she would reach out with her trunk, wrap it around my waist and draw me to her with a pull that was gentle with an irresistable strength. Then she would study me with those brown eyes. So human looking. I felt like a priest in her temple. A lover in her embrace

I was a mahout
I drove the elephants around in a truck
Four great gray cows
a baby and a teen age punk

At night when I was parked
They would rock the the truck
always swaying from side to side
i slept on like rock a bye baby

Sometimes I still awake
from a dream
with the smell of elephants
in my bedroom

Let go yes but
what's my hurry
I wonder
so anxious to go

just a shortimer
with a long way to go
be a long time gone
GO going Gone>>>>>>>>>>>>>>submit

Gary Snyder

he must be close to eighty
still going strong I hope

quote from memory
why do log truck drivers awake earlier than students of zen
there is no other life ...
than the image of truck coming down a dirt road cut in the forest leaving a plume of dust behind it.

"in a dark time
the eye begins to see"

Gary's gettin' up there
saw him 4x in d.c.
over the years
the coolest of readers
saw him at a packed
bookstore on k street
and someone hollered
out, "LOUDER!" gary
just said, "I do not
shout my poetry."
and that was that...........

Lawrence Ferlinghetti (born March 24, 1919)

stumbled onto him in the early seventies
a time of 'openings' for me to use the Quaker term

a gone world for me
so many gone people in it
but my love for them remains

i had never heard of him
till this opening here
where he's so often invoked--
so much more liberated he seems than me
in terms of thought and flow and spontaneity--
but that's not why i heard of him here...
not to set the paradigm,
but to be for it an opening

For many names of common things,
Eruption of the sky-shapes sings
Replete with migratory tunes

Like anthems churning cyclically
In counterpoint and mystically
Neurotic harmonies: it swoons—

Go on, go farther— bird to bird
Heroically defining Word
Each winged percussive beat beats loud

To complement the homebound flight
These immigrants of fall’s delight
Irrupt as Ferlinghetti proud.
"Every genuinely religious person is a heretic, and therefore a revolutionary" -- GBShaw
