World is
my mama.
Feeds me.
Drinks me.
Grows me.
Though I am,
her most annoying
vine.
Full of notions,
like grandeur,
ownership,
hierarchy,
higher.
I make her
cry the most,
out of all
her children,
tromping on her
good, sweet,
nature.
I see you now Mama.
I'm sorry
that I haven't,
all these years.

"I am a victim of society, and, an entertainer"........DW
I tend a little garden
Plum with plants that Mama please
Rife with lilies-of-the-valley
Peppermint and irides,
With black-eyed susans new
And old replanted shrubberies—
I tend it all for Mama
Since I know her thumb’s gangrene
I wanna thank my mama—
But curse the vines obscene
Instead that never die away
That grow by night and show at day
To which my pluck is but their play
And disregard each Fuck I say
Mosquitoes bite me
Sunburns bright me
Sweat-stains smite me
As I tend a little garden
I work but don’t enjoy
But my mama’s told me often, “Boy—
“Your lilies and your shrubberies
“Your irides and peppermint
“Susans aren’t for sake of pleasure
“But for sake of your commitment—
“All those vines that take your time,
“Are they any different?
“Care goes where it’s needed most
“And love its steady partner flows.
“And like the vines are you to me—
“An uncontrolled identity
“That sometimes drives my hair to gray
“And sometimes makes it fall away
“And sometimes hears the Fucks I say
“But always in my bosom lays—
“Though I prune and try to steer
“Your lovely life, it’s deftly clear
“That only is there guarantee
“That tending life for you and me
“Is what we love to love to do.”
