The Courage of Sunrise

Post by e_dog » November 9th, 2004, 12:09 pm

Tomorrow
they will scoop us up
in the cupped hand
of God.

All traces of tea leaves
that could be read
will be whispered
to the sky

or else screamed
at the sun.

Cross my palm with silver,
whispers the gypsy angel,
thick gold wings melting in the sun

Future portents lurk beyond the sky
pay the piper, man
and your chariot will swing low
