Sally Fields censored at the Emmies

Post by Doreen Peri »

My friend in Canada said this was not censored from the Emmies on Canadian TV.

Sally Fields said, "The Mothers of the world know damn well that if women ruled this world there would be no God-damned war period!" Bring them home Mr. President, bring them home!"

But it wasn't aired on American TV.

Go figure, huh?

Go Sally! ;)

I don't know why that bit of censorship bothers me so much

I suppose I am not as cynical as I thought.

How sad when we'll let Janet Jackson slip her tit onscreen, but heaven forbid a call for the troops to come home. Not even the fucking troops...just the troops.

Of course, we didn't handle Janet's boob tube very well either.

Nearly interesting point e-pup. His , er, her point would have been more effective sans the Gottdamn, and THEN if censored, Sally woulda had a semi-legitimate reason to have her panties in a wad (which is to say, anyone saying goddamn on Fox would be censored--unless she intended to say it, so that she could then BYATCH about censorship). But when the boys do pull out, be sure when the bloodletting starts again, the libs will be doing sound-bite kvetching again.

Maybe. She, one, either calculated her outrage ("pacifism is my aeroplane" sorta thang), and said G.D so that they would censor her, and she could stir shit up; or, two, she was sort of carried away (recuerdo she was the FLying Nunt for some time) and said it by mistake. Either way, Fox censors anyone who says "goddamn."

Must be somthing that the actors do, to ensure they'll be cendsored. I don't like UToob but here's a link to Sean Penn's call to put "the president in fucking jail".

A Conspiracy. between Sally Fields and Sean Penn.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

They are paid to lie, so some scripted, bogus outrage ain't exactly out of their realm of kin.

Bushco I don't care for. Romantic thezpians like Penn with coffers stuffed with shekels, and hearts of geld I care for less. Fuck that talent nite spud..

Serio, you want to bust Bushco and dixie xtians, bust the neo-liberals and corporate types who signed off on the war at each f-n step as well, Krimefighter. OK, Bushco and Blair down: Feinstein and Hill and most dems next to 'em And saudi imams as well.
