I worry

I worry—yes—I’m not the healthiest
of psychic specimens, consanguineous
perhaps with histrionic worrywarts
of narcissistic grandiosity
more closely than with gentlemen—but please
remember, please forgive: I’m all I am,
but maybe not what I might ever be.
Who knows the wonders lurking hopefully
around the clockface or the humble lamb
who feeds the wolfpack or the vagaries
to yet be stumbled on? Ferocity
has rarely been my sin; and fear aborts
before I birth it, but nefarious
befits my lust of genius stealthiest.
