for some reason this piece inspired a memorie in me
or perhaps it was a reverie, it's hard to tell the difference these days
the reverie was about those model airplanes I used to buy as a kid
the ones made of balsa wood, 10 cents and you had to assemble them yourself
and of course the really fancy ones had propellors and rubber-band engines
they probably don't make them anymore replaced by something
shiny and plastic and full of lead from China
this poem reminded me of those airplanes because of the loop de loops
when you assembled the balsa planes with the wing slid too far to the front
or too far to the back, the plane would just fly in loops. That's what this poem does.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my balsa wood airplanes
