I had said I'd post this, but life's been crazy (in the middle of a move again), so forgive me.
I'll be ordained as a pastor in the tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America this coming Friday evening at 7:30pm. The rite of ordination is an act of faith, but it's an artsy kind of rite...music, oration, etc. I know (and appreciate) we're from varied backgrounds here, but any and all are welcome. This community ahs helped my sanity throughout everything leading to this point in my life....
The service with ordination will be, like I said, this Friday evening
7:30pm
Emmanuel Lutheran Church
2589 Chain Bridge Road
Vienna, Virginia 22181
Dress can be as formal or as casual as you like (I'll be wearing a white dress and red scarf/alb and stole over black underwear/clerical collar).
If you can't make it in person, but you can offer up a thought or prayer, I'd appreciate it too (and maybe also on behalf of the congregation in Middletown, Connecticut that doesn't know how much sophomoric verse is headed their way on line after line of iambic pentamenter...).
Thanks,
joel

hey man (soon to be Pastor Man), if you can inspire even a small group of people to see the poetry in life, you'll be making a huge difference.
Wishing you a glorious ordination, without sudden coffee spills on your robes, with acoustics that ring your voice straight to its mark/s and an auspicious beginning to a long and amazingly intriguing career.
If there could be a photo, i know i'd certainly appreciate seeing it.
Give em a reason to strive for inner divinity - that's my prayer.
And Congratulations! Mazal Tov.

Thanks D, ST, Judih, et al, I really appreciate your support! There are times when I think such events exist to give us pause for a hallelujah when the peace returns...
but isn't that how it always goes?
If you can make it D, that's wonderful! And if not, I'll rejoice with you along with all the folks who make up that blanketing fog of the great cloud of witnesses...and I'll be happy to share photos as I get them.
