fictive romance

Post by e_dog » November 11th, 2007, 5:44 pm

We slept together on the bus.
You were about three rows ahead.

For twenty minutes at least
I watched you in an angular profile
nodding asleep while holding a book
till it fell
and you fell
asleep.

And i fell
asleep.

When I woke up it was dark outside
and you had already gotten off
at an earlier stop.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

Ah, the endless burbs and suburbs, so full of sleep deficit and numb possibility...

that's where i found it!

not quoted in full.

The first stanza is:

Hello, I love you
won't you tell me your party affiliation?
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.
