About the "shock and awe" recording - (just a little unnecessary history)

That was one of the first recordings we made here. It was terribly crude (well they all were but this one especially because we weren't even set up for recording at all) -

Anyway, when we were out at the restaurant watching the bombing on the tv that day, that's what I kept saying, "Oh my god! Oh my GOD! I can't believe they're doing this!"

And when we came home, I was STILL saying it... repeating it to my sisters on the phone... crying! I was soooo upset!...

At the time, I was also working on the "Cabaret" piano piece and somehow, we both thought they would fit together well since we suspected this place was going to echo germany very quickly.

Horrible memory. Crude distorted clip. But it was a crude, distorted day! using the live radio announcer talking about the day was brilliant, Clay. Too bad we didn't have better recording equipment.

collaboration was difficult
cohabitation, tougher
oh why must all the
lonely artists suffer?

;)

"you think you can just add a winky face after saying something like that and it makes it alright?"

"no. do you? ;)"

"no, neither to do i. ;)"

"well then, we are in perfect agreement."

"no we aren't!"

"yes we are!"

"no we aren't!"

"YES we ARE!"

"Quit arguing with me!"

"I'm not arguing with you."

"Yes you are!"

"No I'm not"

....

I remember Bush announcing his ultimatum. My dog had relieved himself on the floor (scared shitless, no doubt). I was cleaning up during the speech. Neither did much to improve my day. Had to put my dog down three years later. He was a rescued dog, remained scared of men his entire life.

There's an island. A place inhabited by only two kinds of people - knights and knaves. The knaves always lie and deceive, the knights never do. One inhabitant of that island says to another: 'I will lie to you and I will deceive you.' Who's speaking?

I will lie to you and deceive you.

I'm just not feeling very optimistic.
