I wonder what ever happened to johnny paycheck. He shot a guy in a bar in toledo. The guy had asked him if he ever ate mock turtle soup.

I tell ya this Clay, there is never enough trouble. Sometimes I got to go looking for it.

I tell ya this mnaz, Dionysus can kick Appollo's ass any day.

Oh wait did you say Orpheus?

Never mind
I thought you said orifice.

So you think you got trouble?
Soon Paycheck's life began to unravel once again. In 1979 Glenn Ferguson, the singer's former manager, initiated a lawsuit against Paycheck and in 1981 an airline stewardess charged him with slander. The following year Paycheck was accused of rape and sued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for $103,000 in back taxes. In 1985 he became embroiled in a barroom brawl in Hillsboro, Ohio---reportedly over the virtues of venison and turtle soup---and allegedly shouted "I'm no country hick!" before firing a gun and grazing his opponent's skull.

And as if that was not enough trouble he died.

I am beat from questions mark.
I just figure when I die I am going to hell and burn
I got it coming.

I like this poem a lot

Take care Clay. I never could sleep on one of those dam air mattresses.

Oh yeah on the question of questions not going away.
I will never get around to reading EPound, well not until I read Dante first.

That malebolgia thing

the lowest level of the circle reserved for the phoney. I think that is how it goes. A lower level than murderers

that interests me strangely.

Well Jack, if it's any sort of consolation,
I figure we all got it coming too.
Even pure, I figure it was stacked against us.
And how can you fight that?

I would like to read Dante, the whole thing.
Maybe then I can get around to reading Pound.

I am keeping all options open
Just trying to get by with a smile
I hope I can find the time to read dante before I die. I need more images of hell.

I got pretty good grip on Heaven
but hell still eludes me somehow

I stopped watching the preachers on sunday morning tv
I have decided to watch more slasher movies instead

It may be that heaven and hell are as much psychological states as well as death meditations. As I personally tend to get a little closer to all of the above, I tend to count on all of the above observations.

I was spared the religious indoctrination, I remember reading one of your posts about Sunday school.

I been trying to take some notes on Russell's What I Believe.
I don't have the book just the audio tape.

All this
the result of the energy of the brain
I believe that
all thought
all psychological states
brain energy
chemical in nature
the brain dies
I don't think I will be doing much thinking about heaven and hell.
But I think I will be fine. Something I can't get to now
I could meditate from now till the end
and it will still be the activity of my brain
whatever happens after death
I think all dogs go to heaven
people too
everybody
even little Adolph
Cecil had a bit about consciousness being a cacoon for life, I need to check that make sure I am not quoting him wrong
my brain may rot
but somehow my life never ends
life transcends

Watching those people in the audience listening to Pastor Hagee or Pat Robertson all nodding their heads in agreement. They need the assurance that they are "saved" well hell that's okay by me.
but the only people I know who seem to know Christ don't call them selves christians.

had a conversation with old what's her face
she was offended by something I wrote about Jesus
She is a Christian she said.
She believes in heaven and hell
cause what is the point of doing the right thing
if we are not rewarded in the after life
or if we are not going to be punished in the after life for doing the wrong thing.
Or maybe she was offended cause I hit on her.
Whatever, I always get what I got coming.

I was a fortunate child
Nobody ever taught me about heaven and hell.

Joel used to get offended too
Miss that guy
i wonder how he is doing
He always felt he had to stick up for Jesus.
Something Clay said set him off
it seemed out of character
he almost started to rant about the sacred blood of jesus
I will have to find the thread
to see if I got that wrong too.

Don't mind me
just another Christ killer
but
Be he meat, myth or metaphor
Christ is okay by me
Joe Campbell made a lot of sense to me.

I not only got the quote wrong I spelled cocoon wrong too
life is a cocoon for pure consciousness http://www.studioeight.tv/phpbb/viewtop ... ght=cocoon
of course I think that is just chemistry too
words about words
but even so
I believe it
but what animates the chemistry
this mystery called life

I am sure any day now some enterprising scientist with a governent grant will create life in a lab somewhere. That will solve that mystery. I think that might be sarcasm.

Russell was bored by completeness, he longed for the good old days before science gave us all the answers.

Have you thought about what a hassle it is when a human being dies? All the got dam paperwork and beurocratic red tape, inquests, embalming, death ceriticates, funerals eulogies and such.

So much easier for a cat to die
Just toss it in a garbage dumpster and be done with it.

whose thread was this anyway
Clay's
that's cool
I can offer a public apology for high jack ing your thread.

Indeed.

Totenkopf

Post by Totenkopf » April 3rd, 2008, 12:12 am

my remarks about greek mythology references
Why that's pagan idolatry, goldang it.

Really L-rod remove metaphor and myth from poesy, if not Lit, and it starts to resemble something like a collection of snapshots, or the Dear Diary of uh say Patty Krenwinkle.............
