jam masters, word blasters,
rhythm jazzers, spell casters --
who's gonna play that bass line?
call out your lyrics, i'll call out mine,
it's time to jam, man - let's rock!
who all's here? just checked the clock -

despite the empty chairs,
i donned my sequenced meter
and low-cut metaphor - no sweeter
beats had i ever heard before -
heart like a kettle drum!

you are my morning,
my sunrise breath, my stanza dance,
my poem, you, the dream i dream
awakening.

O, the explosion
of a morning, when Ra
reigns fragrant fragments
of unrivaled pigments,
your eyes, the size
of wonder, the thunder
of your heart against
my breast!

vibrations do not depend on
the timing of hearts which skip beats -
nothing can create heat like
time-zone distance!
let us repeat heart mantras
let us repeat the pattern of beats,
rejoicing in the insistence
of a new dawn!

i put the rhythm of life on
like a robe, hold hope between
between my breasts, so blessed
the birth of Love in
infancy!

fertilizing an open mind.

accompanied by belief.

stars point pin-cushioned direction,
love cures, never cliche

sierra images,
a burnt sienna painted
word canvas, wired eyes,
storm cries wild, wolf howls,
prowls of epiphanies, lightning
streaks, piques of curiousity!

I ran with assateague ponies
neck and neck - their manes
played on airwaves, my hair
made wisp-patterns like a sail -
i was a bare-back maiden,
the shoreline, my mist-vision,
each hoof-beat echoed
an hourglass sand

scents of salt
taste of sea
free-crash waves!
roam the beach!
escape undertow
by dive, so alive
a shoreline.

love is a sandcastle,
vast towers crumble
when trampled
or weathered
by surf and storm.

be careful
where you build it.
repair its ruins.

we are dune-travelers,
beach-rovers,
salt-sense grains!

you cannot blame
the sea or rain for
a castle's demise.

build it again!
love remains.
love remains.
