are you ready for some football?

Post by YABYUM » April 26th, 2008, 2:17 pm

55 minutes and ticking....live from radio city music hall in fabulous new york city...THE 2008 NFL DRAFT!!! i love the draft. most people think i must be nuts to watch 5 hours of "guys picking teams". i see so much more. i love football. ilove the sport, i love the game, i love the strategy of the draft. I AM A NJ JETS FAN!!! yes, i know they are called the NY JETS. The stadium is in east rutherford jersey. both the giants and jets play in jersey. NY can have the giants. i just about raised myself in that stadium. every year i watch and grind my teeth down to roots waiting to see how the jets will break my heart this year. last year we got a stud quarterback from oregon who didnt really get much playing time last year to show me his merit. this year i am hoping to all powerful beings from all religions and faiths that we get a dude named mcfadden. he is the barbaro of running backs and the jets really need a young runner to compliment the new young quarterback. a bit of help on the offensive line would also be nice. but like i said.....they always break my heart. the last time the jets won a superbowl was with joe namath and i wasnt born. thanks to my dad for inflicting this terrible curse of a team onto my heart.....cross your fingers.....GO GANG GREEN!!!!

Where is Firsty?
Have you read any of his sports pieces?
I don't what to call his style, he is an amazing writer.

I miss the hell out of him.

Got dam I hate the jets ronnie, 1969, the superbowl, broadway joe, johnny unitas, I swear houses in baltimore were draped with black crepe paper in mourning. The same year the Mets beat the Orioles in the world serries.

Hard for me to get into football these days, I live too much in the past. Johnny U with his high top black football shoes, no body shaking their ass in the end zone.
But when that son of bitch moved the Colts to Indianapolis like a thief in the night he cut my heart out.

I watch some college ball, and I try to watch the Packers as much as I can cause at least that is one team that won't be abandoning their home town. The city owns them but you probably knew that.

Enjoy, don't let me rain on your party, just my two cents.

I live in a freak-fútbol-county but I don´t like fútbol, call it conciously  (the way my right foot looks like some days ago maybe would say the contrary: it looked like I´ve been kicking the ball too much  ). Today I saw a Chicago Bears player in the CNN saying something like "take care of your feet". It made me smile...
